Charlie Kirk\u2019s widow Erika Kirk said she doesn\u2019t want an apology from late night TV host Jimmy Kimmel for his incendiary remarks about the assassination of her husband that got him booted from the air.<\/p>\n
Kirk said Sinclair Broadcast Group, which operates dozens of ABC-affiliated stations across the country, approached her and asked if she wanted to appear on the 57-year-old comic\u2019s show where he would apologize.<\/p>\n
\u201cI told them thank you we received their note. This is not our issue. It\u2019s not our mess,\u201d she told Fox News\u2019 Jesse Watters after he asked what she would say to Kimmel now.<\/p>\n
\u201cIf you wanna say I\u2019m sorry to someone who\u2019s grieving, go right ahead. But if that\u2019s not in your heart, then don\u2019t do it. I don\u2019t want it. I don\u2019t need it,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n
Kimmel had claimed that Kirk\u2019s alleged assassin, Tyler Robinson, was likely affiliated with the \u201cMAGA gang\u201d during his Sept. 15 monologue.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe hit some new lows over the weekend with the MAGA gang trying to characterize this kid who killed Charlie Kirk as anything other than one of them and doing everything they can to score political points from it,\u201d Kimmel said during his show\u2019s Monday monologue.<\/p>\n
Sinclair and Nexstar media \u2014 the two largest ABC Station owners in the country \u2014 announced in response they were ripping Kimmel\u2019s show off air and successfully pushed Disney to suspend the Los Angeles funnyman.<\/p>\n
Disney said it suspended Kimmel \u201cto avoid further inflaming a tense situation at an emotional moment for our country,\u201d calling some of his comments \u201cill-timed and thus insensitive.\u201d<\/p>\n
Kimmel later offered a tearful, lukewarm apology after he was reinstated \u2014 but never actually uttered the word \u201csorry.\u201d<\/p>\n
Kirk, the 31-year-old conservative activist and founder of Turning Point USA, was shot dead while speaking at an event at Utah Valley University on Sept. 10.<\/p>\n
The assassination, which was caught on brutal phone footage, sent shockwaves throughout the country amid rising concerns about political violence.<\/p>\n
Robinson, 22, was arrested days later and charged with aggravated murder and related crimes.<\/p>\n
He could face the death by firing squad if convicted.<\/p>\n
