The Western Force have signed Agust\u00edn Moyano from Argentina<\/a>. The 22-year-old joins the Western Australian Super Rugby franchise from Los Dogos in Super Rugby Americas. The move will see Moyano having his first professional rugby experience outside of Argentina.<\/p>\n

LOS PUMAS \u2013 AGUST\u00cdN MOYANO<\/p>\n

Moyano is a Pumas rookie in 2025. Head Coach Felipe Contepomi named him on his roster to face the British & Irish Lions in June<\/a>. He was one of three scrum-halves and one of two uncapped scrum halves. His test debut came in July against England in San Juan<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Following his debut, Moyano earned his second cap a week later. It was against Uruguay in Salta<\/a> and El Cordob\u00e9s celebrated with a try. He was named on the roster for the Rugby Championship and earned three caps, including playing against Australia in Townsville<\/a> and Sydney<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Moyano is on the Argentine roster presently touring the UK. Los Pumas face Wales in Cardiff, Scotland in Edinburgh and England in London as part of the 2025 November Internationals.<\/p>\n

CAREER \u2013 AGUST\u00cdN MOYANO<\/p>\n

Moyano made his test debut for Argentina against England<\/a> in July, 2025. He was a replacement for fellow Pumas rookie scrum-half Sim\u00f3n Ben\u00edtez Cruz. Moyano and Ben\u00edtez Cruz were rivals in Super Rugby Americas 2025 with Moyano playing for Los Dogos and\u00a0Ben\u00edtez Cruz for Los Tarucas.<\/p>\n

The two scrum-halves officially overtook veteran Gonzalo Bertranou in 2025. This came together with Gonzalo Garc\u00eda holding down the starting spot in the Rugby Championship. It was more than a changing of the guard; it was confirmation that Argentina\u2019s system is producing talent who are successfully making\u00a0the jump from the South American professional league to the top<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Moyano is a native of C\u00f3rdoba and a product of C\u00f3rdoba Athletic. The 22-year-old was identified young by the C\u00f3rdoba based High Performance program which saw him playing for Argentina at the 2023 World Rugby u20 Championship and joining Los Dogos and becoming a regular for the team which saw him earning his call-up to Los Pumas.<\/p>\n

Moyano is one of two contemporary Pumas joining the Western Force. The Perth team signed Franco Molina on a two-year contract for Super Rugby Pacific 2026-2027<\/a>. The two players have been common members of Felipe Contepomi\u2019s rosters in 2025. Molina debuted for Argentina in 2024 and Moyano in 2025.<\/p>\n

Four other Pumas hare former Western Force players. Scrum-half Tom\u00e1s Cubelli also played for the Western Force in 2020-2021. He made 13 appearances for the Western Force. He previously played for the Brumbies, making 18 appearances. Moyano thus follows in the footsteps of Cubelli to be the second Pumas scrum-half at the Western Force.<\/p>\n

Tight head prop Santiago Medrano played for the Western Force from 2020-2024. He made 50 appearances for the club. He now plays for Vannes in France. The team was relegated to the Pro D2 for the 2025-2026 season.<\/p>\n

Flanker Tom\u00e1s Lezana played for the Western Force in 2020-2021 before moving to Wales to play for the Scarlets and from there to France. At the Western Force, Lezana made 5 appearances.<\/p>\n

Domingo Miotti joined the Western Force in 2021. He made 10 appearances for the club with the fly half leaving his mark. He scored the match-winner in the win over the Waratahs<\/a> and also against the, now defunct, Melbourne Rebels<\/a>. He moved to Scotland to join the Glasgow Warriors before moving to France to play for Oyonnax and now for Montpellier.<\/p>\n
