Vasiliy Lomachenko has given his answer on whether or not he will return to the ring.<\/p>\n
The gifted Ukrainian announced his retirement from the sport in June this year<\/a> \u2013\u2013 just over 12 months after outclassing George Kambosos Jr to become a two-time world lightweight champion.<\/p>\n His 21-fight career \u2013\u2013 which included title wins in featherweight and super-featherweight \u2013\u2013 looked to have time left after his dazzling performance in Australia against Kambosos.<\/p>\n In an Instagram post, however, Lomachenko revealed he was hanging up the gloves.<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019m thankful that, as my career comes to an end, I\u2019ve gained clarity about the direction a person must take in order to achieve victory.<\/p>\n \u201cMy father not only taught me the art of boxing but how to be a role model for my own children \u2013 the same way he has always been for me.<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019ve made many mistakes in life, and in the gym, but he has always been by my side.\u201d<\/p>\n The two-time Olympic gold medallist has recently seen his name mentioned once again after he was linked to a clash of legends against Manny Pacquiao<\/a>. At a recent WBO convention in Colombia \u2013\u2013 where Lomachenko\u2019s legacy was honoured \u2013\u2013 Fight News<\/a> caught up with the 37-year-old who explained his decision to retire.<\/p>\n \u201cIt was not difficult because I lost my motivation.\u201d<\/p>\n He then revealed if he has any plans to return, following reports that he could share the ring with Manny Pacquiao in the future.<\/p>\n \u201cIt makes no sense talking about [potential fights] because I\u2019m finished with boxing.\u201d<\/p>\n It seems that Lomachenko will be sticking to his decision, retiring with 18 wins and three losses having fought in 17 world title fights.
