Early-season injuries continue to derail the Golden State Warriors<\/a>. During Tuesday\u2019s win against the Phoenix Suns<\/a>, Jimmy Butler<\/a> III left for the locker room early in the second quarter with lower-back soreness, an injury that could sideline him for several games. To make matters worse, Stephen Curry<\/a> revealed he was dealing with a severe case of the flu after the game and will likely miss Wednesday\u2019s contest against the Sacramento Kings<\/a>.<\/p>\n Besides Curry (flu) and Butler (lower back), the Warriors are dealing with injuries to Al Horford<\/a> (toe) and De\u2019Anthony Melton<\/a> (ACL sprain) in the early part of the season.<\/p>\n After Tuesday\u2019s game, Warriors head coach Steve Kerr confirmed that Curry won\u2019t suit up against the Kings. As for Butler, John Dickinson of 95.7 The Game<\/a> San Francisco noted that Butler is also questionable to play against the Pacific Division rivals.<\/p>\n Steph Curry will miss tomorrow\u2019s game in Sacramento, Steve Kerr said. He labeled Jimmy Butler as questionable. <\/p>\n Warriors Injury Woes<\/p>\n \u201cI don\u2019t care what the doctors say,\u201d Kerr said of Curry\u2019s flu-like symptoms, via ESPN\u2019s Anthony Slater.<\/a> \u201cWe got to get him some rest. He\u2019s not playing tomorrow.\u201d<\/p>\n Kerr also addressed Butler\u2019s injury. The 36-year-old veteran star was originally listed as questionable<\/a> for the game against the Suns, but warmed up on the practice court 90 minutes before tipoff and was cleared to play. However, he appeared in just 14 minutes and missed four of his five shots before returning to the locker room.<\/p>\n \u201cHe felt like he could go,\u201d Kerr said of Butler. \u201cThen he tweaked it [his back] a little bit.\u201d<\/p>\n Steve Kerr on Steph Curry, Draymond Green, and Jimmy Butler: \u201cI could tell on the roadtrip that all three of those guys looked tired. None of them had missed a game and I think they just ran into a little bit of a wall.\u201d <\/p>\n Are the Warriors Too Old?<\/p>\n It\u2019s somewhat concerning that the three oldest members of the Warriors roster \u2014 Curry, Butler and Horford \u2014 are dealing with various ailments early into the season.<\/p>\n In the lead-up to the 2025-26 campaign, many analysts believed that age would eventually be the Warriors\u2019 detriment in their pursuit of a championship. Even Kerr admitted that he has to be extra-careful managing the minutes of Curry, Butler, Horford and Draymond Green<\/a> \u2014 to keep them fresh for the playoffs.<\/p>\n \u201cThat\u2019s always a factor with an older group,\u201d Kerr said<\/a> before the season.<\/p>\n \u201c\u2026The pace, the mileage these guys are putting on their bodies with the 3-point spacing. That\u2019s why we have a whole performance team to track that and to help us monitor minutes. Guys are going to be needing to take games off. Older guys tend to get banged up a little bit more.<\/p>\n \u201cSo we have to be able to win games without some of our key guys this year. That\u2019s already been something that we discussed as a team. I feel really confident with the young guys that we have, that they can step up and fill shoes when those shoes are empty.\u201d<\/p>\n Another concern for the Warriors is Horford\u2019s inability to play back-to-back games<\/a>.
