{"id":265343,"date":"2025-11-05T23:59:11","date_gmt":"2025-11-05T23:59:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/265343\/"},"modified":"2025-11-05T23:59:11","modified_gmt":"2025-11-05T23:59:11","slug":"see-the-moon-meet-up-with-the-seven-sisters-of-the-pleiades-early-on-nov-6","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/265343\/","title":{"rendered":"See the moon meet up with the Seven Sisters of the Pleiades early on Nov. 6"},"content":{"rendered":"<p id=\"2fa340a5-6f4c-4c0d-81cc-0b537e9cce05\">Look to the western sky in the hours preceding dawn on Nov. 6 to see the moon shine close to the constellation Taurus and the stars of the Pleiades open cluster.<\/p>\n<p>The <a data-analytics-id=\"inline-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.space.com\/55-earths-moon-formation-composition-and-orbit.html\" data-before-rewrite-localise=\"https:\/\/www.space.com\/55-earths-moon-formation-composition-and-orbit.html\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">94%-lit moon<\/a> will appear roughly halfway up the western sky in the hours before sunrise on Nov. 6, with the stars of the <a data-analytics-id=\"inline-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.space.com\/pleiades.html\" data-before-rewrite-localise=\"https:\/\/www.space.com\/pleiades.html\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Pleiades<\/a> appearing as a hazy patch of light 5 degrees to its upper left \u2014 though they&#8217;ll be a challenge to spot in the glow of the bright near-<a data-analytics-id=\"inline-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.space.com\/16830-full-moon-calendar.html\" data-before-rewrite-localise=\"https:\/\/www.space.com\/16830-full-moon-calendar.html\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">full moon<\/a>. Remember, the width of your three middle fingers held at arm&#8217;s length spans roughly 5 degrees in the night sky.<\/p>\n<p><a id=\"elk-seasonal\" data-url=\"\" href=\"\" target=\"_blank\" referrerpolicy=\"no-referrer-when-downgrade\" data-hl-processed=\"none\"\/><\/p>\n<p id=\"2fa340a5-6f4c-4c0d-81cc-0b537e9cce05-2\">A pair of 10&#215;50 binoculars will help reveal the seven brightest stars of the Pleiades open cluster \u2014 Merope, Electra, Maia, Taygete, Asterope, Alcyone and Celaeno, the &#8220;Seven Sisters&#8221; \u2014 along with a phalanx of dimmer stars belonging to the 1,000strong stellar hive.<\/p>\n<p>You may like<\/p>\n<p id=\"f125f1a9-239c-4a45-8a63-eee5361eb048\">Look 5 degrees to the lower left of the Pleiades to find the patch of sky containing <a data-analytics-id=\"inline-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.space.com\/45-uranus-seventh-planet-in-earths-solar-system-was-first-discovered-planet.html\" data-before-rewrite-localise=\"https:\/\/www.space.com\/45-uranus-seventh-planet-in-earths-solar-system-was-first-discovered-planet.html\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Uranus<\/a>.
