They will take on Cochise College Thursday at 2:00 p.m. before a meeting with No. 3 Eastern Arizona College Friday at 6:00 p.m. They&#8217;ll wrap up the tournament against Yavapai College Saturday at 1:30 p.m.&#13;<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\n\tThe Badgers are coming off the Snow College Classic, where they earned a pair of victories against Yavapai and the College of Southern Nevada last weekend in Richfield. They defeated Yavapai 87-53 before earning a 65-50 victory against CSN.&#13;<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\n\tIn the Badgers&#8217; 87-53 victory against Yavapai, the Badgers recorded 27 assists. Snow College recorded 27 assists or more just twice last season. The Badgers recorded more assists than their opponents in both games over the weekend. They are 74-16 under coach Grinsell when recording more assists than their opponent.&#13;<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\n\tThis is the first time since the 2022-23 season that the Badgers have participated in the Gila Monsters Tournament. They went 1-2 in 2022 and faced both Cochise and EAC during the event.&#13;<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\n\tThe Badgers are 2-4 all time against Cochise and have not faced the Apaches since their meeting at the Gila Monsters Tournament in 2022, where they suffered a 59-50 loss. Snow College&#8217;s last victory was a 71-34 win Dec. 29, 2017, in Tucson, Arizona.&#13;<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\n\tSnow College is 2-2 in matchups against EAC. The Badgers suffered a 74-63 defeat at the hands of the Gila Monsters during the 2022-23 season. Their last victory came in a 59-57 result Nov. 9, 2018, in Price at the Eagle Classic.&#13;<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\n\tAfter defeating Yavapai to begin the season, the Badgers have now won two of their three meetings with the Roughriders. Their lone loss was a 52-47 defeat during the 2022 season.&#13;<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<br \/>\nLAST TIME OUT: The Snow College women&#8217;s basketball team collected a pair of victories at the Snow College Classic last weekend in Richfield. The Badgers defeated Yavapai College 87-53 Friday before securing a 65-50 victory against former Scenic West Athletic Conference foe the College of Southern Nevada Saturday.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\nBoth teams started out cold to begin the matchup against Yavapai. The score sat tied at four midway through the period. The shots started to fall over the final few minutes of the opening period as the Badgers used a 14-1 run over the final three minutes to take a 26-14 lead into the second quarter.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\nThe Badgers&#8217; offense continued where it left off in the second quarter and eventually pushed the lead out to as many as 23 as <a href=\"https:\/\/snowbadgers.com\/sports\/womens-basketball\/roster\/sydnee-smith\/4879\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"4879\" target=\"_blank\">Sydnee Smith<\/a> scored a layup in the final seconds of the stanza. Snow College took a 47-24 lead into halftime.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\nYavapai would eventually cut the deficit down to as few as 17 points, but the Badgers went on a 16-5 run over the final five minutes of the third quarter to take a commanding 67-39 lead.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\nA 3-pointer from <a href=\"https:\/\/snowbadgers.com\/sports\/womens-basketball\/roster\/kysa-shippen\/4887\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"4887\" target=\"_blank\">Kysa Shippen<\/a> pushed the lead to 31 to open up the fourth quarter. The Badgers led by as many as 35 points before locking up the 87-53 victory.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\nDalana Jokovljevic and <a href=\"https:\/\/snowbadgers.com\/sports\/womens-basketball\/roster\/lala-baldwin\/4886\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"4886\" target=\"_blank\">Lala Baldwin<\/a> led all scorers with 14 points apiece. <a href=\"https:\/\/snowbadgers.com\/sports\/womens-basketball\/roster\/june-olsen\/4885\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"4885\" target=\"_blank\">June Olsen<\/a> finished with 12 points and five rebounds in her first game in orange and blue. Smith fell just short of a double-double as she tallied eight points and 10 rebounds.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\nThe following day against the Coyotes, lost to Utah State University Eastern Friday, the Badgers&#8217; defense held them to just four points through the first 6 minutes of the opening period. CSN went on an 8-0 run to take a 12-10 lead.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\nThe Coyotes would eventually lead by as many as five to open up the second quarter, but a 10-1 run from the Badgers flipped the script, and they took a 29-24 lead into halftime.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\nSnow College continued where it left off and scored nine of the first 10 points to start the third quarter to extend the lead to 13. CSN would trim the deficit to eight before the Badgers took a 48-36 lead into the fourth quarter.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\nBack-to-back jumpers from <a href=\"https:\/\/snowbadgers.com\/sports\/womens-basketball\/roster\/lala-baldwin\/4886\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"4886\" target=\"_blank\">Lala Baldwin<\/a> sparked a run that eventually saw the Badgers take a 61-43 lead \u2013 their largest of the game. Snow College would salt away the remaining minutes and earn the 65-50 victory.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\nBaldwin finished with 12 points, five rebounds, and three assists. Jakovljevic put in 11 points while Smith added 10 points and five rebounds to aid in the victory.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\nThe Badgers will now head to Thatcher, Arizona, to participate in the Gila Monsters<br \/>\nTournament hosted by Eastern Arizona College. CWC is 1-1 to start the season after defeating North Idaho College 70-48 to start the season.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\nSnow College is 3-1 against the Lancers but has not faced them since the 2021-22 season. The Badgers suffered a 69-57 loss in that matchup in Taylorsville.
