International Rugby League<\/a> have confirmed 18 players who are in contention to take out the men’s Golden Boot award in 2025.<\/p>\n

The award, which recognises the best international player each year, features players from across five countries, with major nations Tonga<\/a> and the Cook Islands<\/a> in the Pacific Championships, and England<\/a>, who are trailing 2-0 in the Ashes against Australia<\/a> as it stands, totally overlooked.<\/p>\n

New Zealand<\/a>, Fiji<\/a>, Samoa<\/a>, Papua New Guinea<\/a>, and Australia<\/a> all have plenty of representation throughout the released list.<\/p>\n

Out of the Ashes series, Australian spine stars Harry Grant<\/a>, Cameron Munster<\/a> and Reece Walsh<\/a> have been included alongside forwards Reuben Cotter<\/a> and Harry Grant<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Back in the Pacific Championships, the in-form Dylan Brown<\/a> has been joined by New Zealand<\/a> teammates Moses Leota<\/a>, Casey McLean<\/a>, Isaiah Papali’i<\/a>, Joseph Tapine<\/a> and Matthew Timoko<\/a>, making the Kiwis the most represented nation.<\/p>\n

Fiji<\/a> have one representative in fullback Jahream Bula<\/a>, while Payne Haas’ switch to Samoa<\/a> has seen him named on the list alongside Jarome Luai<\/a>, Jeremiah Nanai<\/a> and the in excellent form Junior Paulo<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Papua New Guinea<\/a> are also represented with potential future NRL<\/a> player Edwin Ipape<\/a> and Lachlan Lam<\/a> named to round out the 18.<\/p>\n

There is a possibility of more players being included after next weekend’s final Ashes Test and Pacific Championships finals.<\/p>\n

The selectors are Darren Lockyer<\/a>, Cameron Smith<\/a>, Reuben Wiki, James Graham<\/a> and Petero Civoniceva<\/a>.<\/p>\n
