{"id":267866,"date":"2025-11-07T02:43:09","date_gmt":"2025-11-07T02:43:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/267866\/"},"modified":"2025-11-07T02:43:09","modified_gmt":"2025-11-07T02:43:09","slug":"michael-trailer-hits-30m-views-studio-boss-provides-sequel-update","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/267866\/","title":{"rendered":"&#8216;Michael&#8217; Trailer Hits 30M Views; Studio Boss Provides Sequel Update"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tIn its first six hours after dropping today, the first teaser for <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/tag\/michael\/\" id=\"auto-tag_michael\" data-tag=\"michael\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Michael<\/a> from <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/tag\/lionsgate\/\" id=\"auto-tag_lionsgate\" data-tag=\"lionsgate\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Lionsgate<\/a> racked up over 30 million views, 50% more than what John Wick: Chapter 4 delivered in its first six hours. <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tThe news comes from Lionsgate Motion Picture Chair Adam Fogelson on this afternoon\u2019s earnings call. <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tThe Michael Jackson biopic from director Antoine Fuqua and Bohemian Rhapsody producer Graham King is a highly anticipated tentpole for the Santa Monica, CA studio, scheduled for an April 24, 2026 theatrical release. <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tLionsgate\u2019s C-suite was also asked by an analyst to provide an update on whether the second half of Michael was still in the works. <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tLionsgate had to break up Michael into two parts, not only because of the original cut\u2019s 3 1\/2 hour length, but also because footage was shot centering around one of Jackson\u2019s accusers; their settlement with the singer\u2019s estate guaranteed they\u2019d never be dramatized.
