A man has been arrested after a 10-year-old girl and a woman were killed in a crash in a remote Aboriginal community in Queensland.<\/p>\n
A car carrying five people \ufeffcrashed on \ufeffDoomadgee Road in Doomadgee, 400 kilometres north of Mount Isa, about 6.30am local time today.<\/p>\n
Emergency services arrived to find them all seriously injured.<\/p>\n
The driver, a 30-year-old woman from \ufeffCloncurry, was given first aid but died at the scene.<\/p>\n
Her four passengers were rushed to Doomadgee Hospital, where a 10-year-old girl died.<\/p>\n
Of the remaining three, one is fighting for their life while two are being treated for non-life-threatening injuries. \ufeff<\/p>\n
Police have arrested a 28-year-old man known to the deceased.\ufeff<\/p>\n
A crime scene has been declared as investigations continue.<\/p>\n
Queensland Police are supporting the Doomadgee community and local officers.<\/p>\n
They have advised the community that there is no ongoing threat.<\/p>\n
