It\u2019s been a dramatic 24 hours for Celebrity Traitors<\/a>. Firstly, the final episode was released early and thousands of fans found themselves inadvertently finding out who had won before the episode had even aired. Oh the horror! Then came the actual finale and well, things reached a whole new level of dramatic. <\/p>\n

We thought it was all over for the Traitors when David, Joe and Nick voted Cat out. Two down, one to go. But Alan Carr was never going to let victory slip away that easily, was he? \u201cTraitors for life,\u201d he\u2019d told Cat before her banishment. And so, Joe Marler went next, which left Nick Mohammed, David Olusoga and Alan. And Alan\u2019s final act of deceit was quite extraordinary. Here\u2019s why it showed his true colours… <\/p>\n

Let\u2019s be honest, we weren\u2019t entirely sure if Alan would remain loyal to his fellow Traitors or turn against them, but he proved his allegiance in the final episode. \u201cI love Cat,\u201d he said in an early behind the scenes moment. \u201cLast night in the turret we made a pinky promise, we\u2019re going to look after each and we\u2019re not going to throw each other under the bus.\u201d Mission one, accomplished.<\/p>\n

They say you should keep your friends close and your enemies closer and that\u2019s exactly the approach Alan decided to take in the final. \u201cWhat are we doing at the round table?\u201d he asked Joe during a chat, before Joe put David\u2019s name on the table. \u201cYou know, Jonathan\u2019s name came up again and again and again, and when we finally banished him, we were like, why didn\u2019t we do this sooner?\u201d replied Alan. \u201cThere is something that\u2019s making everyone be suspicious [of David].\u201d And so, the agreement was made: David had to go. <\/p>\n

When the dreaded round table arrived, all eyes were unexpectely on Alan. According to Nick, he didn\u2019t seem relieved enough each time he wasn\u2019t banished. For Joe Marler, he couldn\u2019t get over the fact that Alan previously hadn\u2019t remembered he had a shield. Alan\u2019s response? \u201cWell you didn\u2019t say you\u2019ve got a shield, you said, \u2018Well you\u2019ll sleep well tonight\u2019 \u2013 and I went, \u2018What?\u2019. I just didn\u2019t know what you were saying.\u201d Smooth Alan, very smooth. <\/p>\n

\u201cCould we say that your softening of your image could be like a Traitor?\u201d Alan asked Joe when Nick pointed the finger at him at the very same round table. \u201cAnd I\u2019d say, with you, you\u2019re on the same level as Jonathan for going round whispering names.\u201d As Joe struggled to defend himself, it seemed Alan’s genius had struck again.<\/p>\n

It was the moment of truth: would the remaining contestants banish again or end the game? Alan was the first to answer. \u201cI\u2019ve still got a little bit of unfinished business with Joe,\u201d he said. \u201cEarlier today, me, Cat and him were outside and he said, \u2018Let\u2019s all vote for David\u2019 and that\u2019s what we said we\u2019d do. And yet at the round table he goes for Cat, which just made me very suspicious.\u201d And just like that, he\u2019d convinced the remaining Faithfuls to vote for Joe. <\/p>\n

With Joe now gone, the celebrities were asked one more time if they\u2019d like to banish again or end the game, and Alan, naturally, chose to end the game. \u201cI just don\u2019t get any Traitor vibes from these two at all,\u201d he told Claudia Winkleman. \u201cI genuinely believe both of you are Faithfuls and I think we\u2019ve done it,\u201d Nick said as the fire burned green. <\/p>\n

\u201cNow please reveal, are you a Faithful or a Traitor?\u201d Claudia asked Alan in the final fire pit moments. And as Alan said the words, \u201cI\u2019m a Traitor\u201d, he simply couldn\u2019t hold it in any longer. \u201cIt\u2019s been tearing me apart,\u201d he said as he broke down in tears. Just like that, Alan’s tough facade was broken – and that’s why we love him.
