Australian Rugby League Commission (ARLC) chairman Peter V\u2019landys is reportedly keen to get high-profile journalist Michael Chammas to switch sides and work for the NRL.<\/p>\n
Chammas has spent almost the last two decades reporting on the NRL for the Sydney Morning Herald and Nine.<\/p>\n

Join now and get your first month for just $1.<\/a><\/p>\n Earlier this year, he made headlines as he was removed from Channel 9\u2019s 100% Footy show after the network bowed to controversial player agent Isaac Moses\u2019 wishes.<\/p>\n Moses didn\u2019t want him questioning Eels star Mitchell Moses and told the station if he wanted the Eels star to appear on the show, Chammas could not be there.<\/p>\n Nine Entertainment bowed to that wish. <\/p>\n Chammas blamed the player agent, with whom he no longer has any relationship with and had not spoken to for eight years.<\/p>\n He also had a heated exchange with Phil Gould that earned the respect of much of the footy world as he called the Bulldogs supremo out for not being transparent.<\/p>\n You can watch the heated exchange with Phil Gould in the player above.<\/p>\n And after Nine Entertainment seemingly annoyed the respected journalist during the 2024 season, the NRL has seen an opportunity to pounce, according to the Australian\u2019s Andrew Webster<\/a>.<\/p>\n Webster reports Chammas has been sounded out about joining the organisation, namely in a strategic role for its football department.<\/p>\n However, Webster also notes that the NRL\u2019s head of football role, which has been held by former referee Graham Annesley since 2018, is also not entirely off the table.<\/p>\n
