The Grammys<\/a>\u2019 love continues for Kendrick Lamar<\/a>. The rapper, who took home the most trophies<\/a> at the 2025 music awards with five, leads the nominees for the 2026 awards.<\/p>\n

Lamar is up for nine awards, including album of the year (for his most recent album, GNX<\/a>), best rap album, record of the year and song of the year. He faces competition for the night\u2019s top award \u2013 album of the year \u2013 from Bad Bunny<\/a>, Justin Bieber<\/a>, Sabrina Carpenter<\/a>, Lady Gaga<\/a>, Leon Thomas, Tyler, the Creator<\/a> and Clipse, Pusha T & Malice<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Gaga follows Lamar with seven nominations, tied for second with producers Cirkut and Jack Antonoff<\/a>. Other top nominees include Carpenter, Thomas, and next year\u2019s Super Bowl half-time show performer<\/a>, Bad Bunny, who each received six.<\/p>\n

The Latin superstar, whose album Deb\u00ed Tirar M\u00e1s Fotos anchored a groundbreaking residency<\/a> in his native Puerto Rico, is up for record of the year for DtMF, along with Carpenter for Manchild, Doechii<\/a> for Anxiety, Billie Eilish<\/a> for Wildflower, Lady Gaga for Abracadabra, Luther by Lamar and SZA<\/a>, Chappell Roan<\/a> for The Subway, and Bruno Mars<\/a> and Ros\u00e9 for APT.<\/p>\n

Lamar\u2019s Luther is also nominated for song of the year alongside Abracadabra, Anxiety, APT, DtMF, Wildflower, Manchild and the KPop Demon Hunters<\/a>\u2019 track Golden. The chart-topping track marks the first time an animated performer \u2013 Huntr\/X: Ejae, Audrey Nuna, Rei Ami \u2013 has been nominated for song of the year.<\/p>\n

Roan, last year\u2019s best new artist winner, announced this year\u2019s nominees, including Olivia Dean<\/a>, Katseye, the Mar\u00edas, Addison Rae<\/a>, sombr, Thomas, Alex Warren<\/a> and Lola Young<\/a>. Other presenters included Brandi Carlile<\/a>, Carpenter, Doechii, Sam Smith<\/a>, and Sharon, Jack and Kelly Osbourne, honoring the late metal legend Ozzy Osbourne.<\/p>\n

Wet Leg<\/a>, Perfume Genius<\/a>, Bad Bunny, Djo<\/a> and Tyler, the Creator became the first-ever nominees for best album cover, one of two new awards debuting this year.<\/p>\n

Some of the year\u2019s most omnipresent songs were not represented. There were no Grammy nominations for Morgan Wallen<\/a>\u2019s I\u2019m the Problem, the year\u2019s second-biggest album, though his team announced earlier this year that he would not submit his music for consideration in future. And Grammy mainstay Taylor Swift<\/a>\u2019s blockbuster album The Life of a Showgirl<\/a>, released in October, fell outside the eligibility window, which ran from 31 August 2024 until 30 August 2025.<\/p>\n

In announcing the nominees, the recording academy\u2019s CEO, Harvey Mason Jr, said that the Grammys<\/a> had \u201ccelebrated music\u2019s very, very best\u201d for 68 years. He noted that this year, 15,000 voting members listened to and accounted for 20,000 entries in 95 categories, making the Grammys \u201cmusic\u2019s most coveted award because it\u2019s music people honoring music people\u201d.<\/p>\n

Lamar took home the most awards at last year\u2019s ceremony<\/a>, winning five awards, including record of the year and song of the year. The evening also saw Beyonc\u00e9<\/a>, the most-awarded artist in Grammy history, win her first album of the year award, as well as best country album, for Cowboy Carter<\/a> in a ceremony that paid tribute to those affected by the devastating California wildfires.<\/p>\n
