Modern Adventure Pro Cycling, the George Hincapie-led project seeking UCI ProTeam status for its inaugural racing campaign next season, has unveiled a 20-rider roster for 2026. The heavily Anglophone list includes names like Robin Carpenter, Tyler Stites, and Scott McGill that will be familiar to fans of the American domestic racing scene \u2013\u00a0but also 24-year-old Brit Leo Hayter, returning to full-time racing after a lengthy hiatus.<\/p>\n

Hayter, who signed with the Ineos Grenadiers after he won the under-23 Giro d’Italia in 2022 and the U23 Li\u00e8ge-Bastogne-Li\u00e8ge in 2021, stepped away from racing in 2024 amid a battle with depression.<\/p>\n

“I have been struggling mentally the last five years,” Hayter wrote in a blog post at the time. “It is something that for a long time I just ‘dealt with’. I assumed I was just lazy, I lacked motivation.”<\/p>\n

Hayter returned to competition in a limited capacity in July of this year, winning the Catalonian time trial championship and then racing the Chrono des Nations for the Voster ATS Continental team. Now, he is set to race a full calendar with Modern Adventure in the coming year.<\/p>\n
