The historic revival of the rugby league Ashes series has officially come to an end in 2025, with Australia comfortably claiming a 3-0 clean sweep<\/a> over England.<\/p>\n

The Kangaroos were put to the test for short periods during the third and final match, but Kevin Walters’ men were never going to allow their rivals to steal the lead.<\/p>\n

Australia’s attack has not been the cleanest throughout the series, although some key stars stepped up to the challenge that comes with international football. <\/p>\n

1. Reece Walsh<\/p>\n

Three Tests, four tries, including the last two of the game that sealed the clean sweep – a brilliant performer. Rating: 8<\/p>\n

2. Mark Nawaqanitawase<\/p>\n

Never quite reproduced his club form on tour, failing to score a try and making four handling errors in Leeds, but did lead the Aussies in run metres. Rating: 5<\/p>\n

3. Kotoni Staggs<\/p>\n

Danger man was kept well in check by the England defence, making just nine runs for 60 metres. Rating: 6<\/p>\n

4. Gehamat Shibasaki<\/p>\n

Got few chances with the ball in the red zone but solid in defence to finish an amazing season. Rating: 6.5<\/p>\n

5. Josh Addo-Carr<\/p>\n

At his cunning best on the left flank, scoring one try, unlucky to have another taken off him and saving one with sheer desperation. Rating: 7.5<\/p>\n

6. Cameron Munster<\/p>\n

Man of the tour, man of the match, his two classy try assists proved the undoing of a brave but outclassed English team. Rating: 8.5<\/p>\n

7. Nathan Cleary<\/p>\n

A quiet tour and quiet last game for such a class player, again happy to let Munster pull off all the big plays in attack. Rating: 6<\/p>\n

8. Patrick Carrigan<\/p>\n

Another Kangaroo who was much quieter than we are used to seeing at club level – a mere eight runs for 60 metres. Rating: 5.5<\/p>\n

9. Harry Grant<\/p>\n

His best game of the series – the most dangerous of the tourists with the ball in hand, scoring one try and creating another. Rating: 8<\/p>\n

10. Tino Fa’asuamaleaui<\/p>\n

Will be disappointed with his lack of game time and involvement – just 37 minutes for 50 metres. Rating: 5<\/p>\n

11. Angus Crichton<\/p>\n

The best Aussie forward on tour, his running game again terrorised the English defence out wide. Rating: 7<\/p>\n

12. Hudson Young<\/p>\n

Scored a fine try from a Munster grubber but otherwise much quieter than we are used to seeing for Canberra. Rating: 6<\/p>\n

13. Isaah Yeo<\/p>\n

A fine return after missing the second Test and most of the first – topped the tackle count and busy in attack. Rating: 7<\/p>\n

14. Tom Dearden<\/p>\n

Only got the final 20 minutes and the game was won and lost by that stage. Rating: 4.5<\/p>\n

15. Lindsay Collins<\/p>\n

Tried hard when thrown into the action but a split second’s concentration lapse led to England’s lone try. Rating: 5<\/p>\n

16. Reuben Cotter<\/p>\n

Another solid bench performance from this workaholic forward, lifting the intensity when given his chance. Rating: 6<\/p>\n

17. Keaon Koloamatangi<\/p>\n

Could do little in his 15 minutes of game time – the English would have been happy he sat out the first 65 minutes.
