Passed an HIA.

14 Bautista Delguy – 7
His dancing feet always kept Wales’ defence honest and was rewarded with a try. Overall, though, he was outshone on the day by fellow wing Mateo Carreras.

13 Justo Piccardo – 7
Carried relentlessly with 10 in the first half alone and showed good understanding with midfield partner Chocobares even though it’s an embryonic combination. Guilty of giving away Argentina’s only penalty in the first 40.

12 Santiago Chocobares – 6.5
Got back to cover the back field well after Blair Murray breakout had threatened to give Wales a dream start. Always carried with intent and ran hard.

11 Mateo Carreras – 8.5
At times it was like watching Shane William at his jinking best. Carreras always looked a threat whenever he received the ball and came up with an assist for Los Pumas’ second try with a chip ahead before rubbing salt into Wales’ wounds with a brilliant finish on the stroke of half-time. Much quieter in the second half and was replaced on the hour by Isgro.

10 Geronimo Prisciantelli – 7
Some good, some not-so-good as you’d expect from an inexperienced fly-half, but he’s definitely a player with something about him and can be well satisfied with his two tries. Mixed up the attack well with a variety of kicks and showed good awareness to be up in support to collect Mateo Carreras’ kick ahead for his first Test try and then poached an intercept in the final quarter. His tap-tackle on Dan Edwards also saved a certain try as Wales tried to mount a fightback.

9 Simon Cruz Benitez – 7.5
A largely assured display from the Newcastle player, who got the ball away from the ruck well and was always alive to any opportunities for a break himself, none more so than when he dummied opposite number, Tomow Williams, and crossed from a metre out under the shadow of the posts. One loose pass into touch aside, it was a good outing, until Wales started to make life more difficult for him at the breakdown as the game wore on.

1 Mayco Vivas – 7
Solid at scrum time and was a willing carry and tackler throughout. Has been a yellow card magnet in recent Tests but kept his nose clean here.

2 Julián Montoya (captain) – 8
Another trademark industrious display which was reminscent of pretty much all of his 114 caps. Flawless at the lineout, a nuisance at the breakdown and tackled his heart out, completing 19. Such a competitor.

3 Pedro Delgado – 7
Burrowed over after seven minutes for his first Test try and, at the other end of the pitch, he put his body on the line with some desperate try-line tackles.

4 Guido Petti – 6
A solid enough shift without ever catching the eye. Was one of the few Argentina players to be penalised by referee Ben O’Keeffe.

5 Marcos Kremer – 6
Moved to lock from the back row and put in some trademark big hits and made some bruising carries. Struggled to bust the gain line as much as he’d have liked and got caught with his hands in the honey pot at the breakdown, Jac Morgan scoring from the resulting penalty.

6 Pablo Matera (vice-captain) – 7.5
Wasn’t having the best of days with a couple of clumsy handling errors until coming up with one of the highlight reel moments of the Quilter Nations Series. Argentina’s most-capped player caught the ball directly from the restart, rumbled 30 metres forward before sweetly dropping the ball on his left boot to excute a deft chip ahead that Mateo Carreras gathered to score. He also pulled off a turnover on halfway as Argentina absorbed a lot of pressure at the start of the second half, and from there, Delguy finished off a multi-pass move.

7 Juan Martin Gonzalez – 6.5
Lovely anticipation to pick up loose ball and then offload in counter attack for Argentina’s second try. Always in the thick of the action but won’t want to rewatch the dropped pass on his own 22-metre line that gave Wales the territorial platform they needed to score their second try. Plus he needlessly gave away an offside penalty. Took a knock near the end.

8 Joaquin Oviedo – 6.5
Shown a clean pair of heels by Dan Edwards, but he could be forgiven for being caught flat-footed by a more nimble opponent after another hard shift on both sides of the ball. Showed good hands with offloads, as well as making the hard yards from the back of the pack.

Replacements:

16 Ignacio Ruiz – 7
The last of Los Pumas’ replacements, coming on with about 13 minutes to go. It didn’t take him long to get involved with a bullocking run seeing him eat up about 20 metres.

17 Thomas Gallo – 6.5
Missed a try line tackle on Morgan but scrummaged well in the 35 minutes he had on the pitch.

18 Tomas Rapetti – 7
Won a couple of scrum penalties as the Argentina pack started to earn reward for their dominance at the set-piece.

19 Matias Alemanno – 5
Lost ball in contact and struggled to make much of an impact.

20 Santiago Grondona – 6
Made six tackles but slipped off one. Very quiet as a carrier but took Argentina to 50 points with their seventh try.

21 Agustin Moyano – 6
Had the occasional dart from the base but most notable moment was one he’d rather forget – a box kick that went directly above his head.

22 Juan Cruz Mallia – 6.5
Did well aerially and got stuck in, in defence, but few opportunities to show what he can do in attack.

23 Rodrigo Isgro – N/A
Not too many involvements for the Quins man.

Argentina player ratings: Los Pumas condemned Wales to a 10th straight home defeat, inflicting a record defeat and…

[567
64,63,760,85
0":"post-273693","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-rugby","8":"tag-au","9":"tag-australia","10":"tag-rugby","11":"tag-sports
["GET
