Nic Lynagh makes the move from Harlequins, following in the footsteps of his brothers as he spent three months in the senior Academy.<\/p>\n
The youngest brother revealed the influence of the Wallabies flyhalf was another persuasion to make the move south from England.<\/p>\n
“I’ve only heard good things about the Reds from Tom. He’s the one who planted the idea in my mind,” Nic said.<\/p>\n
“The lifestyle in Queensland, the environment to improve, learning a completely different style of game…Tom has been very positive about it all. It’s made him a better player.<\/p>\n
“I watched a lot of the Reds on TV this year so I like the way the Reds play as well.\u00a0<\/p>\n
“The move worked out for Tom. It might for me. I’m going to go for it.”\u00a0<\/p>\n
Lynagh joins a Queensland system stacked with young talent, including Nicholas Conway and Treyvon Pritchard, who signed with the Super Rugby Pacific squad for 2026.<\/p>\n
Fellow Australia U18s stars Kingsley Uys, Tom Ross and Finn Mackay are among the talent locked up long term under coach Dale Robinson.<\/p>\n
“We’ve been tracking Nic’s development as a good young player for some time, right back to when the Reds signed Tom five years ago,” said GM of Reds General Manager, High Performance Sam Cordingley.<\/p>\n
“The connection through his brother will make the transition easier at Ballymore.
