Logan Martin has added another BMX freestyle world championship medal to his collection, winning bronze at the 2025 UCI Urban Cycling World Championships in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.<\/p>\n
The three-time world champion displayed his trademark style and flair as he aimed to defend the rainbow jersey on Saturday night.<\/p>\n
Despite slipping on a pedal early in his first run, Martin still managed a score of 84.44 losing valuable points for the mishap.<\/p>\n
But the Olympic gold medallist\u00a0upped the ante for his second run with a 540 flair, quad whip and scored 91.68, improving on his overall standing. However, it wasn\u2019t enough to match Frenchman Anthony Jeanjean (94.4) who claimed his first world title.<\/p>\n
United States\u2019 Marcus Christopher finished second (94.02).<\/p>\n
\u201cIt was a very high level of riding all week so I\u2019m happy to land on the podium,\u201d Martin said.<\/p>\n
\u201cMy two runs didn\u2019t quite go as I planned, but I was happy to land my second run and get a decent score on the board.\u201d<\/p>\n
Incredibly, it is Martin\u2019s sixth world championship podium, having only missed out once in 2022 from his seven appearances.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt is definitely nice to add another medal to my collection. My first bronze, so I have all three colours now,\u201d he added<\/p>\n
Brandon Loupos joined Martin in the finals marking a triumphant return to the world championship stage.<\/p>\n
In his first world championships since 2022 after overcoming significant injuries, Loupos finished fifth overall.<\/p>\n
Alec Danelutti was knocked out in the semi-finals where he finished 15th, while debutants Samual Grace and Xavier Gilbee put in a strong showing for their first world championships finishing 44th and 45th respectively after qualifying runs.<\/p>\n
It was a clean sweep for China in the women\u2019s competition with Sibei Sun top-scoring (95.86) to take the world title, ahead of countrywomen Jiaqi sun (93.08) and Xiaotong Fan (92.10).<\/p>\n
Natalya Diehm was the best-placed Australian, finishing eighth, with teammate Sarah Nicki in 12th.<\/p>\n
After laying down an impressive first run that scored 74.00, Diehm threw everything at her second run in a bid to move up the rankings.<\/p>\n
\u00a0An attempt at an alley-oop flair came up short and she slid out. Diehm was determined to complete the trick in front of the crowd and got back on her bike and gave the trick another crack, this time making it stick.<\/p>\n
But it wasn\u2019t enough to improve the score from her first run.<\/p>\n
