{"id":275875,"date":"2025-11-10T17:44:08","date_gmt":"2025-11-10T17:44:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/275875\/"},"modified":"2025-11-10T17:44:08","modified_gmt":"2025-11-10T17:44:08","slug":"moto3-world-champion-announces-racing-future-after-emotional-motogp-farewell","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/275875\/","title":{"rendered":"Moto3 world champion announces racing future after emotional MotoGP farewell"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>One-time Moto3 world champion Albert Arenas will compete in World Supersport next season with Yamaha, having announced his departure from the MotoGP paddock.<\/p>\n<p>The Spanish rider <a href=\"https:\/\/www.crash.net\/motogp\/news\/1085794\/1\/former-world-champion-announces-emotional-departure-motogp-paddock\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">announced ahead of last weekend\u2019s Portuguese Grand Prix<\/a> that 2025 would be his final year of racing in the MotoGP paddock.<\/p>\n<p>In an emotional social media post, Arenas said he was departing the grand prix paddock having not fulfilled his lifelong ambition of making it to MotoGP.<\/p>\n<p>However, the 2020 Moto3 world champion teased that his racing journey was not coming to an end.<\/p>\n<p>For 2026, he will join AS Racing in World Supersport to compete on a Yamaha R9 and will parner Aldi Satya Mahendra.<\/p>\n<p> Article continues below ADVERTISEMENT<\/p>\n<p> Article continues below ADVERTISEMENT<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI am very happy to join Yamaha with the new AS Racing team,\u201d Arenas said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s a new challenge and championship for me, and it\u2019s a big opportunity for me to build my racing career and return to winning ways.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI arrive with a lot of motivation and the mentality of wanting to keep growing as a rider.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMy objective is clear; to be as competitive as possible and ride to the best of my ability.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTo be part of an official structure with the support of Yamaha is something that motivates me, and I trust a lot in the potential of the project.<\/p>\n<p> Article continues below ADVERTISEMENT<\/p>\n<p> Article continues below ADVERTISEMENT<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnd I want to thank Yamaha, and the team, for the trust and confidence in me.
