Both drivers came away from the contact unscathed, securing valuable points for the team at Interlagos.<\/p>\n
Speaking after the race, Hadjar conceded he \u201cpushed it a little too much\u201d when trying to overtake his teammate.<\/p>\n
\u201cI pushed it a little too much,\u201d Hadjar said. \u201cHonestly, it was very, very fun.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe went on a one-stop and at the very last lap, I\u2019m on his gearbox, I think you can\u2019t do any better than that.<\/p>\n
\u201cI tried and I overdid it, kind of my mistake. But just the strategy on the first couple of laps was not good enough.\u201d<\/p>\n
Lawson \u2018respects\u2019 Hadjar\u2019s move<\/p>\n
Lawson, who continues to fight for his F1 future, didn\u2019t have an issue with Hadjar\u2019s aggressive manoeuvre.<\/p>\n
The Kiwi acknowledged that Hadjar \u201cmisjudged\u201d the overtake but understood why he went for it, given it was the final lap.<\/p>\n
\u201cHe was going for a move and it\u2019s a type of corner that obviously curves in and he\u2019s obviously trying to clear me before the braking, and I think he\u2019s misjudged it,\u201d he explained.<\/p>\n

\u201cBut obviously we both came out of it, so it was okay, and more importantly for the team to have two cars seventh and eighth is great today.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s the last lap of a race \u2014 honestly, I think there\u2019s no way that the team can expect or anybody can expect [him not to]. As much as it\u2019s [not] the ideal thing to do, there\u2019s no way that we\u2019re not going to race for a position like that.<\/p>\n
\u201cSo, I respect it. Obviously, we\u2019re lucky that we came out of it, but it\u2019s been a great weekend for the team.\u201d<\/p>\n
