However, best-laid plans were disrupted when <a class=\"underline hover:text-redColor\" href=\"https:\/\/ringmagazine.com\/en\/news\/caleb-plant-vs-jose-armando-resendiz-fight-report\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Plant was upset by Jose Armando Resendiz<\/a> via decision at Las Vegas&#8217; Michelob Ultra Arena. <br \/><a class=\"underline hover:text-redColor\" href=\"https:\/\/ringmagazine.com\/en\/news\/jermall-charlo-thomas-la-manna-fight-report\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Charlo (34-0, 23 KOs) won his fight against Thomas LaManna<\/a>, via sixth-round TKO, later that evening. Despite Plant\u2019s setback, the grudge match will proceed if a deal can be reached to match the pair. <\/p>\n<p>Charlo and Plant are among the most recognizable names in the sport. They engaged in an altercation in July 2023 during Terence Crawford-Errol Spence fight week when Plant slapped Charlo. <\/p>\n<p>Resendiz, meanwhile, is in talks fight <a class=\"underline hover:text-redColor\" href=\"https:\/\/ringmagazine.com\/en\/fighters\/edgar-berlanga-2151569\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Edgar Berlanga<\/a>, <a class=\"underline hover:text-redColor\" href=\"https:\/\/ringmagazine.com\/en\/news\/reps-for-edgar-berlanga-armando-resendiz-in-talks-for-fight-early-in-2026\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">The Ring reported last week<\/a>. It\u2019s possible that fight is paired with Charlo-Plant if all is finalized. <\/p>\n<p>Charlo, 35, is the twin brother of fellow former champion Jermell Charlo. Jermall is a former titleholder at junior middleweight and middleweight. <\/p>\n<p>Plant (23-3, 14 KOs) is a former super middleweight titleholder.
