{"id":276635,"date":"2025-11-11T01:47:07","date_gmt":"2025-11-11T01:47:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/276635\/"},"modified":"2025-11-11T01:47:07","modified_gmt":"2025-11-11T01:47:07","slug":"fabio-quartararo-missed-a-bit-of-everything-in-portugal-motogp","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/276635\/","title":{"rendered":"Fabio Quartararo \u2018missed a bit of everything\u2019 in Portugal MotoGP"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Yamaha\u2019s Fabio Quartararo says he \u2018missed a bit of everything\u2019 as he battled hard to hold onto a top six finish in the MotoGP Portuguese Grand Prix.<\/p>\n<p>The 2021 world champion came through Q1 in qualifying on Saturday to put his factory <a href=\"https:\/\/www.crash.net\/motogp\/teams\/monster-energy-yamaha-motogp\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Yamaha<\/a> onto the back of the front row.<\/p>\n<p>He was able to convert this to a comfortable fourth in the sprint, but came under a bigger challenge in the grand prix as he fought with Fermin Aldeguer, Brad Binder and Johann Zarco.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.crash.net\/motogp\/racer\/911998\/fabio-quartararo\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Fabio Quartararo<\/a> was powerless to stop Aldeguer and Binder coming through, but managed to hold onto sixth at the chequered flag.<\/p>\n<p>The Frenchman admits he was \u201cnot exactly managing\u201d his tyres as he pushed across the 25 laps, but \u201cmissed\u201d in several areas on his Yamaha.<\/p>\n<p> Article continues below ADVERTISEMENT<\/p>\n<p> Article continues below ADVERTISEMENT<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI was pushing from lap one until the end, of course, keeping in mind to not burn through the tyres,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBut I was not exactly managing the tyres either.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt was a tough one, but I think we did a great job. This was the maximum that we could do with what we have.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are working hard on improving. I think it was nice to turn the Friday we had into an acceptable result on Saturday and Sunday.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe missed the top speed, stability, grip, and of course, electronics.
