Nathan Ray Seebeck / Imagn Images

With Week 11 of the fantasy football waiver wire comes … well, at first glance, disappointment. It’s a super thin waiver list, but that’s normally what happens this late in the season. That’s why you need to make sure the high-end backups are rostered, and you need to be looking ahead to the remaining byes. It’s also about time to consider backing up your quarterback, as those fliers on Devin Neal and Isaac TeSlaa are as valuable as those 7-11 scratchers.

Waiver Wire Running Backs
Trey Benson, ARI — Barely over 60% rostered, but Benson is here as a reminder that he could return any week and immediately carry RB2 value.
Tyjae Spears, TEN 😏
Tyler Allgeier, ATL 🫡 Also, check out the pod for more on how Allgeier is entering David Montgomery territory.
Blake Corum 🫡 Corum is possibly in the Allgeier/Monty conversation and covered on the pod, as well.
Sean Tucker, TB — Has looked better than Rachaad White recently, which puts Tucker in the RB3 tier until Bucky Irving returns.
Devin Singletary, NYG — No more than a RB3, but with the coaching change, Tyrone Tracy or Singletary could see a usage bump.
Brian Robinson, SF — He’s not startable … yet. Robinson has been more effective as a rusher at times, so stash Robinson in case the 49ers start sharing more backfield work.
Others of Note
Keaton Mitchell, BAL — Discussed in comments of previous waivers, but Mitchell would lead if Derrick Henry got hurt. Though, Justice Hill would timeshare in that case, holding Mitchell to RB2 value.
Kaleb Johnson, PIT — Don’t go crazy yet, but for one week, it appears Johnson moved into the backup role. Kenneth Gainwell would share with Johnson if Jaylen Warren got hurt, but if you’re looking for deep fliers, here you go.
Dylan Sampson, CLE — Getting some third-down work and looks to have supplanted Jerome Ford instead of sharing the backup role.
D’Ernest Johnson, NE — Terrell Jennings didn’t return in Week 10, and if Rhamondre Stevenson is still out, it’s the Patriots — a backfield where anyone can have value.
Cardinals … if Benson still out
Emari Demercado, ARI — Whether or not Bam Knight is okay, Demercado has the higher ceiling.
Bam Knight, ARI — An RB3 hoping for a touchdown.
Michael Carter, ARI — Knight replacement if Benson and Knight are out.
Bait Loot
(Leave them on waivers)
Chris Rodriguez, WAS — Complete committee. Avoid this backfield. Unless … (see “Junk Drop” section below)
Justice Hill, BAL — As mentioned above, Mitchell would be the lead, but Hill could be an RB3 with a Henry injury.
Junk Drop
Nick Chubb, HOU — I can’t say Woody Marks is 100% the lead and trustable, but I can say Chubb isn’t worth holding. He has just two games over 7.9 points — none since Week 5 — and five games of 6.0 or fewer points.
Kenneth Gainwell, PIT — See Johnson blurb (above). Don’t drop Gainwell for nothing, but he’s way down the “Next Man Up” list now, and he might not be next up anymore.
Jacory Croskey-Merritt, WAS — Droppable if Rodriguez is okay (left in Q3). But as long as BT7 is out, Washington is a WR3 no matter Meyers’ use.
Luther Burden, CHI — DJ Moore left the game, and while he’s out, Burden would be a WR4 with Top 20 upside. Just know, once Moore is okay, Burden is back to Stashtown.
Chimere Dike, TEN — Even if Calvin Ridley returns coming out of the bye, Dike has turned into the Titans’ version of Khalil Shakir.
Darius Slayton, NYG — Weekly WR4 with big-play upside and a low floor.
Dontayvion Wicks, GB — Much like Burden, only here assuming Romeo Doubs misses time, and only during that absence. Wicks doesn’t rank higher due to the Packers consistent mixed usage of all their receiving options and reliance on the run game.
Jayden Higgins, HOU — We can hope this is a shift for the Texans, as he ran one fewer route than Xavier Hutchinson. If Higgins is finally the No. 2 option, he’ll have WR4 value the rest of the way.
Elic Ayomanor, TEN — Only if the Titans decide to “write off” the rest of Ridley’s season, and even then, a WR4/5.
Adonai Mitchell, NYJ — We’re coming off a game where the Jets had 54 receiving yards. Mitchell flashed at times before the Colts sent him away, and with Garrett Wilson out 3-4 weeks, he’s worth a flier for potential WR4 value once he’s up to speed.
Treylon Burks, WAS — Don’t look now … actually, just don’t look because it feels crazy to have Burks here. Nevertheless, Burks was the Commanders’ No. 2 wideout. As long as Terry McLaurin remains sidelined, Burks can be a desperation WR5.
Stashes
Jayden Reed, GB — Eligible to return. As a pure upside stash, I’d put him ahead of his teammate, Watson.
Brandon Aiyuk, SF — I’m not stashing without an IR spot or deep bench. His practice window isn’t open yet, and they have a Week 14 bye. Aiyuk has Top 20 ability, though.
Bait Loot
(Leave them on waivers)
Keon Coleman, BUF — Only the second game over 6.0 points since Week 1, and both barely hit double digits (10.3, 12.1) while including touchdowns.
Jerry Jeudy, CLE — First game of the year over 9.1 and barely scored more than Week 10 in his previous five games … combined.
Kyle Williams and Mack Hollins, NE — You can take a deep flier on both (Hollins first) if Boutte is out for Week 11, but neither would carry much value once he’s back.
Junk Drop
Keenan Allen, LAC — Only if Oronde Gadsden isn’t missing time. Allen has been the odd man out since Gadsden’s breakout with a mere 50.0, 53.8 and 60.0 Route%, respectively, the past three games and just five targets in each with no more than 44 yards. I’d swap Allen for everyone through Slayton on the WR list above if Gadsden is playing.
Reserve Heroes: Deployed
(Streaming Section)Streaming Quarterbacks

Joe Burrow, CIN, news: The Bengals have 21 days to activate Burrow, which would put him in play for Week 14 at Buffalo. After that, the Bengals face the Ravens at home, Dolphins in Miami and are back home for the Cardinals in Week 17. It’s an interesting schedule for Burrow’s upside. Obviously, if you have an IR spot to stash Burrow, you do it immediately. The tough call is if you have to hold Burrow on the bench. If you have the room with no clear “must-have” pickups on waivers, I’m good with it. There are two teams on a bye this week and four the next, but the week after is Thanksgiving week with no byes, so you might have a good enough bench already. That’s all assuming it takes the full three weeks to activate Burrow. There is a chance it could happen sooner, and while unlikely, we know he has Top 5 value. The risk is that Burrow doesn’t return at all, as the injury is still an issue or the Bengals are officially out of the playoff race by that point.

Geno Smith, LV vs DAL
Joe Flacco, CIN at PIT
Brock Purdy/Mac Jones, SF at ARI
Marcus Mariota, WAS at MIA
Jacoby Brissett, ARI vs SF
J.J. Meanwhile, Tucker has 4.5 yards per carry on 21 rushes in the past two games. White is already barely holding on to the lead. His value will evaporate when Irving is back, and it’s holding on by a thread with Tucker splitting the backfield now.
Justin Jefferson, WR, MIN: 🦆🦆 — Prior to the Ravens game, Jefferson had one single-digit score (9.6 in Week 2) and was averaging 12.6 FPPG. Jefferson had become Mr. Floor Guy, and you could have argued, “it can only get better.” Well, while Jefferson is averaging nearly the same fantasy points per target with and without J.J. McCarthy at quarterback (1.23 and 1.29), he’s only catching 50% of McCarthy’s passes compared to 68.0% with Carson Wentz. In fact, 88.0% of Wentz’s throws were on target, compared to 76.5% for McCarthy. It’s not so much Jefferson, as it is McCarthy clearly showing rookie-like passing (essentially his rookie season). Jefferson is a WR2 until McCarthy improves.
Power Up Players
(Scale 1-5: more Mario mushrooms = more excitement)
Rico Dowdle, RB, CAR: 🍄🍄🍄🍄🍄 — I know everyone is afraid given the Dowdle we knew, plus Chuba Hubbard’s 2024 season and contract. But your fears should be laid to rest after Week 10 when Dowdle had just 13.8 points. It was a disappointing game for the Panthers, and Dowdle averaged just 2.9 yards per carry. Even so, Dowdle had 21 touches to Hubbard’s 4, and again, he still managed a Top 15 finish. Here’s the list of running backs I’d definitely take over him: Jonathan Taylor, Christian McCaffrey, De’Von Achane, Jahmyr Gibbs … and … that might be it. If nothing else, he’s a no-question Top 10 option and at least in the second tier of RBs.
Troy Franklin, WR, DEN: 🍄🍄🍄 — Franklin’s past three games: 30.7 TmTGT%, 47.8 TmAirYD%, 15 receptions, 156 receiving yards, 3 TDs, 14.2 FPPG. Now, Courtland Sutton: 18.2 TmTGT%, 26.6 TmAirYD%, 8 receptions (16 targets), 121 receiving yards, 1 TD, 7.4 FPPG. We might not be ready to crown a new No. 1 in Denver, but maybe we should be. We will get a good litmus test this week against the Chiefs, but the connection between Bo Nix and Franklin is clear, and as long as Sutton regularly draws top coverage, Franklin will carry WR2 value.

<img decoding="async"
