Victorian Jack Dalton<\/a> is a 177cm utility from the Sandringham Dragons<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Few, if any, prospects finished the talent pathway season in hotter form than Dalton, which is a testament to his diligent work ethic and application while sidelined with a broken arm.<\/p>\n

The arm injury kept him out of the early part of the U18s National Championships and Coates Talent League season, a great shame for a player who came into 2025 with great esteem following promising 2023 and 2024 seasons.<\/p>\n

Positively, he was able to spend the time away studying vision of two-time Brownlow medallist Lachie Neale<\/a>, a player built in a similar mould to him, to help him better utilise his insane running power, which was on show at the National AFL Draft<\/a> Combine, where he took out the two-kilometre time trial with a run of 5:53 minutes.<\/p>\n

Given an opportunity to shine in Sandringham’s engine room upon return, he spearheaded the Dragons all the way to the Coates Talent League Grand Final with his ball-winning, toughness and ability to cover the ground, allowing him to feed teammates by winning first possession or getting his hands on the ball around stoppage.<\/p>\n

Dalton’s kicking was an area of question entering 2025, but there was an uptick as the season progressed with his ability to hit targets, complementing his athletic profile.<\/p>\n

His skillset has previously been utilised on the wing and flanks, which is where he is likely to start his career, with his range of attributes lending themselves well to him having genuine utility value.<\/p>\n
