{"id":277273,"date":"2025-11-11T08:52:15","date_gmt":"2025-11-11T08:52:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/277273\/"},"modified":"2025-11-11T08:52:15","modified_gmt":"2025-11-11T08:52:15","slug":"the-huge-changes-ferrari-werent-able-to-capitalise-on","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/277273\/","title":{"rendered":"The huge changes Ferrari weren&#8217;t able to capitalise on"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Ferrari joined Red Bull in making changes to its car on the Saturday in Brazil as the team sought to elevate its performance.<\/p>\n<p>But unlike Red Bull\u2019s Max Verstappen, who raced from the pit lane to P3 after his team changed his RB21\u2019s floor, Ferrari wasn\u2019t able to capitalise.<\/p>\n<p>Ferrari mix it up\u2026<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"ps-lazy-img aligncenter size-full wp-image-903410\" width=\"1600\" height=\"900\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/Ferrari-SF-25-rear-wing-comparison-Sprint-Race.jpg\" alt=\"Ferrari SF-25 rear wing comparison Sprint-Race\"  \/><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.planetf1.com\/team\/ferrari\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Ferrari<\/a> joined Red Bull in looking to make changes to its car in order to elevate its performance from the Sprint portion of the weekend going into the race, as they intervened on both their aerodynamic configuration and cooling solutions.<\/p>\n<p>The changes made to the SF-25 between the conclusion of the Sprint and the start of Qualifying on Saturday were an attempt to boost performance over one lap, but also improve matters for Sunday.<\/p>\n<p>The most obvious of these alterations was to downforce level, with the team opting for a different rear wing configuration for the remainder of the weekend having run the higher downforce option during the Sprint portion of the event.<\/p>\n<p>The team had already gained some data in this regard on Friday though, having used the lower downforce, spoon-shaped rear wing assembly on Hamilton\u2019s car during FP1.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"ps-lazy-img aligncenter size-full wp-image-903411\" width=\"1600\" height=\"900\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/Ferrari-SF-25-cooling-comparison.jpg\" alt=\"Ferrari SF-25 cooling comparison\"  \/><\/p>\n<p>In terms of its cooling, Ferrari had opted for an asymmetric layout in Brazil, with a four-louvre arrangement on the left-hand side of the SF-25 and three louvres on the right-hand side of the engine cover during the Sprint portion of the weekend.<\/p>\n<p>However, when it came to qualifying,\u00a0 they\u2019d decided to reduce their cooling capacity, switching to a three and two louvre arrangement, on the left and right-hand side of the car, respectively.<\/p>\n<p>The changes helped Charles Leclerc qualify third for the grand prix, up on eight in Sprint quali, but for Lewis Hamilton it was another wretched out as he finished in 13th place.<\/p>\n<p>Brazilian GP: Conclusions and Winners &amp; Losers<\/p>\n<p>\ud83d\udc49 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.planetf1.com\/features\/brazilian-grand-prix-2025-conclusions\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Brazil GP conclusions: Key Norris change, Max\u2019s big fight, latest Piastri SOS, new Ferrari solution<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\ud83d\udc49 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.planetf1.com\/home-page\/winners-and-losers-2025-brazilian-grand-prix\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Winners and Losers from the 2025 Brazilian Grand Prix<\/a><\/p>\n<p>It all came to nought for Ferrari in the grand prix,; Leclerc punted out of the race by Kimi Antonelli who had contact with Oscar Piastri, while a collision with Franco Colapinto damaged Hamilton\u2019s car.<\/p>\n<p>Ferrari team boss Fred Vasseur believes the changes to the car worked for Ferrari, even though the team was not able to capitalise on it.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt was a difficult day,\u201d he told Sky Sports F1 after the race. \u201cBut we can still look for the positives, such as the race pace we showed.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI think our pace was decent, and even in qualifying, we weren\u2019t actually too far off.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere are a lot of ups and downs, both for us and for everyone else.
