A new couple has hit the tennis scene, after World No 51\u00a0Anastasia Potapova let slip her relationship with fellow athlete Tallon Griekspoor while on a luxury holiday.<\/p>\n

Tennis is awash with loved-up couples. The relentless world tour, which sees stars from the men’s and women’s game globetrot almost 365 days a year, inevitably sees romances blossom and leads to serious relationships.<\/p>\n

British tennis star Katie Boulter<\/a> is set to wed Australian player Alex de Minaur<\/a>,\u00a0Gael Monfils and Elina Svitolina<\/a>\u00a0have been together since 2021 and Andre Agassi and Stefi Graf are still going strong since tying the knot in 2001.\u00a0<\/p>\n

And now Potapova and Griekspoor have announced themselves as an official item, with the pair jetting off together to the Maldives for a well-earned break after a long season.<\/p>\n

Russian star Potapova shared a series of photos from her holiday, with World No 25\u00a0Griekspoor spotted in the reflection behind her in one loved-up shot.<\/p>\n

Potapova enjoyed a trip away full of activities including jetskiing, cycling and snorkling.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The Russian star, who is world No 51, posted a cryptic photo on her Instagram page<\/p>\n

‘Kinda busy…’ she captioned her Instagram post.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

Not all tennis relationships go the distance, however. Stefanos Tsitsipas and Paula Badosa split earlier this year having\u00a0been ‘shattered’ by the demands of their high-powered careers, including injuries.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Tsitsipas and Badosa captured the hearts of the tennis world when they went public together in 2023 and were dubbed ‘Tsitsidosa’ as they shared their affection in a series of heart-warming social media snaps together.\u00a0<\/p>\n

In May last year they broke up ‘amicably’ but within three weeks they were back together and piquing the interest of fans again.<\/p>\n

But they have now called time on their relationship for a second time, with insiders telling Spanish magazine \u00a1Hola! of their heartbreak.\u00a0<\/p>\n

A source close to the two told\u00a0\u00a1Hola!<\/a>: ‘The breakup just happened. They both lost in the first round in London and everything has come together for them.<\/p>\n

‘[They]\u00a0were going through a rough patch professionally, with injuries, and that affected their relationship.<\/p>\n

‘They’re not well, of course. It’s normal for any couple that breaks up. They had started the year very well, and their dream has been shattered.<\/p>\n

Potapova is rumoured to be with Dutch tennis star\u00a0Tallon Griekspoor, who is No 25 in the world<\/p>\n

‘It’s a healthy breakup and there were no third parties or family influences, as is starting to be said.<\/p>\n

‘[They]\u00a0have struggled to make their relationship work, but ultimately it hasn’t worked out. Ghosts from the past have returned, marked by the injuries they have both suffered.<\/p>\n

‘[The split is]\u00a0between adults who loved each other very much, and it was a mature decision.’\u00a0<\/p>\n
