Saints superstar Nasiah Wanganeen-Milera lifted his team to a miraculous, record comeback win on Sunday afternoon. Hours later, he was lifted \u2013 literally \u2013 into the air by his coach.<\/p>\n

Just hours after Wanganeen-Milera against Melbourne had 34 disposals and four goals \u2013 including the last two of the game<\/a> \u2013 to inspire St Kilda\u2019s six-point win at Marvel Stadium<\/a>, the match-winner was central to the celebrations at Hotel Brighton.<\/p>\n

A clip from the pre-planned club event emerged on social media on Monday afternoon, which showed Lyon celebrating with ecstatic players while having Wanganeen-Milera on his shoulders.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt was pretty funny!\u201d Saints ruck Rowan Marshall \u2013 who assisted Wanganeen-Milera\u2019s match-winning goal \u2013 told reporters on Monday.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think Ross tried to get me on his shoulders but I was too heavy. I think Nas is a bit lighter.\u201d<\/p>\n

Marshall added: \u201cWe had a planned club function that had been on the cards for about a month. I think it was great for everyone to get together and have a good a time. I guess the win made it even better.\u201d<\/p>\n

After the Demons were penalised for a 6-6-6 centre square infringement, Wanganeen-Milera was instrumental in creating the space to lead into to take the mark from a Marshall, which led to the match-winning goal.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe obviously knew we were getting the free kick, so \u2018Windy\u2019 (Marcus Windhager) and \u2018Nas\u2019 came over,\u201d Marshall said. \u201cWe knew the iso was going to be on the left-hand side because they thought we were probably going to roll out onto the right foot.<\/p>\n

\u201cI sort of just said to Nas \u2013 and Nas said to me \u2013 \u2018kick it to me\u2019 darting out to the left-hand side. Sure enough, as soon as I got the ball, I saw a bit of space and lucky enough the kick came off \u2026 I guess the rest is history.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe work a fair bit on win and \u2018save game\u2019 scenarios. It\u2019s one thing Ross has been big on throughout the year. Often in training we\u2019ll do a four-minute patch at the end of training because it\u2019s such an important part to the games these days.\u201d<\/p>\n

Marshall said watching his kick to Wanganeen-Milera felt like \u201cit almost went in slow-mo\u201d, but had confidence his superstar teammate would convert.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt was a weird feeling. As soon as he took that mark, I knew it was going through He\u2019s just that type of player,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe boys were telling me to get back on the goalline, but I wanted to be around him to celebrate him when he kicked it.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt was probably the best moment I\u2019ve had in footy.\u201d<\/p>\n

Wanganeen-Milera proved yet again how much of a sledge hammer it\u2019d be to St Kilda if he packs up and moves interstate<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The SA product is still to decide his future as he weighs up a move home to South Australia.<\/p>\n

Asked how confident Saints players were Wanganeen-Milera would stay, Marshall said: \u201cWe\u2019re hopeful \u2026 He\u2019s such an integral part to this group, all the boys love him. But at the end of the day, that\u2019s up to Nas and his manager and the club to sort out.\u201d<\/p>\n

Marshall added: \u201cHe\u2019s obviously a superstar. He\u2019s such a humble guy. Over the last two years especially, but I\u2019ve noticed it even more this year \u2013 not just on-field but off-field as well \u2013 he\u2019s gone to another level with his leadership this year. The boys look up to him and he\u2019s a superstar, he\u2019s a freak.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe saw what he did last night, but we\u2019ve been seeing that for a long time.\u201d<\/p>\n

After trailing by 46 points at the last change, St Kilda\u2019s final-quarter comeback to score an unthinkable win over Melbourne was the biggest win from a final-quarter deficit since Brisbane came back from a 45-point margin to beat Hawthorn at the Gabba in 1995.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt was a crazy win. The first three quarters were pretty garbage from us \u2026 but I think that last quarter just shows what we can do,\u201d Marshall said.<\/p>\n
