The NRL<\/a> community is rallying around the family of 18-year-old Johannes Logan after the tragic death of the South Sydney Rabbitohs<\/a> player. Logan was a member of South Sydney’s Jersey Flegg squad (at Under-21 level) and had been working his way through the grades at the famous NRL club.<\/p>\n

A GoFundMe page<\/a> has been set up to help his devastated family, with NRL stars like Cameron Murray and Jacob Host among the many to donate. Murray is the Rabbitohs’ captain<\/a> and a State of Origin star with NSW. Host played for Souths from 2021 to 2025.<\/p>\n

The GoFundMe page reads: “Support the Logan family during this difficult time, if you would like to help out, a donation would be most welcomed. These funds will go directly to the family to help them during this difficult time. Our prayers are with Rene, Andrew, AJ, and Abi. You will be missed Johannes.”<\/p>\n

Logan was born in Orange before moving to Sydney, where he started out playing rugby union. He attended famous rugby school St Joseph\u2019s College and played in the 1st XV team at GPS level.<\/p>\n

The front-rower had switched his focus to rugby league and signed a professional contract with the Rabbitohs. He played SB Ball Cup (Under-19 level) in 2025 and had been promoted to Jersey Flegg for next season.<\/p>\n

Veteran rugby league journo ‘The Mole’ wrote on social media: “Terrible news – Souths Jersey Flegg prop Johannes Logan has died. Here is a link to support his family.”<\/p>\n

Another person commented: “How awful, what terrible news. My sincere condolences to his family, friends and club mates. RIP Johannes.” While a third added: “Terrible news, thoughts and prayers for the family.”<\/p>\n

As of Wednesday evening, over $50,000 had been raised for Logan’s family. The GoFundMe page originally started with a $10,000 target.<\/p>\n
