{"id":279837,"date":"2025-11-12T16:03:22","date_gmt":"2025-11-12T16:03:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/279837\/"},"modified":"2025-11-12T16:03:22","modified_gmt":"2025-11-12T16:03:22","slug":"diocese-of-crookston-seeks-solutions-after-25m-pension-shortfall-inforum","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/279837\/","title":{"rendered":"Diocese of Crookston seeks solutions after $25M pension shortfall &#8211; InForum"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>CROOKSTON, Minn. \u2014 The Diocese of Crookston is urgently seeking solutions after discovering its pension plan is severely underfunded.<\/p>\n<p>A letter was sent to current and former employees in late October after the diocese found it was nearly $25 million short on funds.<\/p>\n<p>The plan is managed by the Catholic financial organization Christian Brothers Services.<\/p>\n<p>Bishop Andrew Cozzens said there was a lack of transparency from the organization. He added that some of the 180 other organizations whose finances are managed by Christian Brothers Services, including other dioceses, have also been underfunded.<\/p>\n<p>The Crookston Diocese covers 65 parishes and eight Catholic schools from Warroad to Frazee, Minn.
