The Atlanta Hawks star opens up on living in the US, advice from Chris Paul and more<\/p>\n
Dyson Daniels <\/a>has revealed the biggest difference between living in the US\u00a0and home in Australia.<\/p>\n “People here are a little more sensitive… (We) talk a bit more sh*t in Australia,” he said in an interview with HoopsHype following Atlanta’s road win over the Los Angeles Clippers.<\/p>\n Last season’s Most Improved Player led the Hawks offence in their 105-102 win over the Clippers at the Intuit Dome, covering for the loss of injured star Trae Young with six points and eight assists in 39 minutes – the most in his team.<\/p>\n And Daniels revealed some special advice he received from future Hall of Famer and Clippers legend, Chris Paul, following the game.<\/p>\n “He’s basically told me that I worked too hard to not take those shots, and being out there, And he says, you work so hard, you got to take your teammate\u2019s trust, and you’ve got to take those shots. So that was pretty cool,” Daniels told HoopsHype<\/a>.<\/p>\n The Bendigo product also spoke about teammate Kristaps Porzingis pointing him out as someone he likes with responsibility offensively with Young sidelined and how far he thinks his offensive game has come over the past year.<\/p>\n “Trae’s our engine. He does a lot for us. He’s been – since he’s come in the league – that offensive firepower, and when he goes down, the next guy’s stepping up. So, trying to feel that role, be more aggressive, get downhill, get my teammates the ball where they’re going to be effective. Those guys like KP getting touches on the elbows and the blocks, trying to get the kick out, so trying to be more aggressive,” he said.<\/p>\n “(My offensive game has) definitely slowed down a lot. I just feel like I see things clearly. I mean, yeah, it just feels more comfortable out there. I’m able to see my reads and I still got to continue to be aggressive and take my shots when they’re there and get to the rim and stuff like that to hold the defense honest.
