Sussan Ley has confirmed the Liberal party has followed the Nationals\u2019 lead by formally abandoning a firm net zero emissions target<\/a>. Moderate MPs are still allowed to call lower emissions a \u201cwelcome outcome\u201d, and Dan Tehan said unspecified \u201cavailable technology\u201d<\/a> would help Australia to do its fair share to reduce emissions.<\/p>\n The political reaction was swift, with Sarah Hanson-Young calling the Liberals \u201ca bunch of nutters\u201d<\/a> and Zali Steggall declaring the Coalition \u201cunelectable\u201d<\/a>.
