Charli XCX<\/a> has shared \u2018Chains Of Love\u2019, a gothic new track for the forthcoming Wuthering Heights film.<\/p>\n

The track is the latest to be shared from Charli\u2019s new album, which she has written for the upcoming adaptation of Wuthering Heights<\/a> from Emerald Fennell<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The record was first announced earlier this month, and has already been previewed by the song \u2018House\u2019,<\/a> which saw the singer team up with The Velvet Underground<\/a>\u2019s John Cale<\/a> to capture an eerie, cinematic sound.<\/p>\n

Now, a second preview of the album has been shared with the new song \u2018Chains Of Love\u2019. Like \u2018House\u2019, the song carries a similar spooky feel to it, and begins with a swirling, cinematic melody, as it gradually builds towards an euphoric chorus.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019d rather lay down in thorns\/ I\u2019d rather drown in a stream\/ I\u2019d rather light myself on fire\/ I\u2019d rather wear all these scars\/ I\u2019d rather watch my skin bleed\/ In the eye of your storm,\u201d Charli sings as the song steadily builds towards the chorus. \u201cShattering like glass\/ Yes, they\u2019re breaking up my heart\/ The chains of love are cruel.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

The album will arrive on Friday February 13, and is available to pre-order here<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The new film adaptation of \u200b\u200bWuthering Heights is set for release on February 11 2026 in the UK and two days later in the US. It stars Margot Robbie<\/a> as Catherine Earnshaw and Jacob Elordi<\/a> as Heathcliff.<\/p>\n

The new song also features in the first trailer for the film, and is available to watch below.<\/p>\n

Speaking of the new songs for Wuthering Heights, Charli said: \u201cWhen working on music for this film, \u2018elegant and brutal\u2019 was a phrase I kept coming back to.\u201d<\/p>\n

She added that she felt \u201cso lucky\u201d to get to work with Cale:<\/a>. \u201cI decided to reach out to him to get his opinion on the songs that his phrase had so deeply inspired, but also to see whether he might want to collaborate on any. We got connected, we spoke on the phone and wow\u2026 that voice, so elegant, so brutal.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

The new song comes after Charli recently said that she was \u201ccurrently feeling more inspired by film than by music\u201d after being left \u201cstuck, empty and barren\u201d after her breakthrough album \u2018Brat\u2018<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201c[By the end of \u2018Brat\u2019] I sort of felt like I was squeezing blood from a stone, trying to get every last drop of liquid life out of an idea I had already been sat with for years prior,\u201d she shared. \u201cI still love [Brat], don\u2019t get me wrong but I was itching to move on and was simultaneously frustrated that I was so depleted that I couldn\u2019t.\u201d<\/p>\n

Early next year, Charli will appear on-screen in the drama film The Moment<\/a>, based on an original idea by the singer.
