P\ufeffolice say they have thwarted an illegal drug trafficking operation to supply cocaine across St Kilda after arresting a man and seizing $35,000 worth of drugs from his apartment.<\/p>\n

Detectives began the investigation into the alleged cocaine distribution in May after several anonymous reports were made to Crime Stoppers.<\/p>\n

At around 5.30am on Thursday, officers executed a search warrant at an apartment on St Kilda Road in St Kilda.<\/p>\n

“While the glitz and glamour of a life funded by drug trafficking may look appealing, the consequences of getting caught do not,” Senior Constable Tom Garside said.<\/p>\n

Inside the apartment, police seized a traffickable quantity \ufeffof cocaine with an estimated potential street value of $35,000.<\/p>\n

Police also seized quantities of MDMA, cannabis and cash, and electronic devices.<\/p>\n

\ufeffThe 25-year-old has been charged with trafficking cocaine, possessing cocaine, MDMA and cannabis, and knowingly dealing with proceeds of crime.<\/p>\n

“Trafficking drugs will leave a smear against your name for the rest of your life; a criminal record will follow you to any job interview, relationships and friendships and will cost you far more than just the money gained from your offending.<\/p>\n

“We thank the members of the community who provided police with key information via anonymous tip-offs and encourage anyone who has any inkling that a crime may have taken place to also make a report.”<\/p>\n

He was bailed to appear in court in May next year. \ufeff<\/p>\n
