A full ten years passed between the release of 2009\u2019s Zombieland<\/a>\u00a0and 2019\u2019s sequel\u00a0Zombieland: Double Tap, and director Ruben Fleischer revealed to Deadline<\/a> that he\u2019s still hoping to maintain that streak with Zombieland 3.<\/p>\n

Fleischer revealed intentions for the long-gestating third installment to finally arrive in 2029.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m hoping that we\u2019ll do a\u00a0Zombieland 3 in 2029. We\u2019re starting to talk about that because [the first] one was 2009, and then we did the second one in 2019, and we kind of left that one all saying, \u2018We\u2019ll see you in 10 years.\u2019 That\u2019s coming up now, and so we\u2019re starting to figure that out, so I\u2019m hoping that\u2019ll come together. Then, I\u2019ve got a few things that are raring to go, so we\u2019ll see which one comes first,\u201c the director stated.<\/p>\n

While it\u2019s not the first time<\/a> the filmmaker has stated 2029 plans for Zombieland 3, star Jesse Eisenberg also supports this plan and is game to return.<\/p>\n

The actor told ComicBook<\/a> while promoting his new release, \u201cYes, I would like to [make\u00a0Zombieland 3]. Zombieland was, I think a 10-year break in between. This movie, we did one, and then like three years later, and then 10 years later. So,\u00a0Now You See Me is probably more likely to have more movies than\u00a0Zombieland.\u201d<\/p>\n

Eisenberg starred in the 2009 zombie comedy alongside Woody Harrelson, Emma Stone, and Abigail Breslin. The zombie-slaying quartet all returned for the sequel.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s a hopeful, though not speedy, update for the third installment.<\/p>\n

In the meantime, Fleischer also revealed hopes to helm a vampire Western.\u00a0<\/p>\n

He tells Deadline, \u201cBut also, there\u2019s this Western vampire movie that I\u2019m really excited about, that\u2019s like a classic Western with a vampire at the center of it. Like\u00a0Unforgiven, if Clint Eastwood was a vampire. I\u2019m really hoping to make that. I feel like the two genres that I dreamed of making were a gangster movie and then a Western. So I\u2019m hoping that I\u2019ll get the chance to make a Western.\u201c<\/p>\n
