NEW YORK — Knicks<\/a> forward OG Anunoby<\/a> was ruled out of the rest of Friday’s game against the Miami Heat<\/a> with a left hamstring strain.<\/p>\n

Anunoby left the game at the 6:52 mark of the first quarter Friday, after missing a layup and appearing to have an issue with his hamstring. He then headed back to the locker room a short time later, and was ruled out for the rest of the game by the Knicks at the start of the second quarter.<\/p>\n

Anunoby, 28, entered Friday’s game averaging 17.1 points and 5.8 rebounds per game, and is coming off playing a career-high-tying 74 games last season – one of two times in his career he’s eclipsed 70 games in a season.<\/p>\n

New York entered Friday’s game already missing star point guard Jalen Brunson<\/a>, who suffered a right ankle sprain in the closing minutes of Wednesday’s loss to the Orlando Magic<\/a>. Brunson, who left Madison Square Garden in a walking boot Wednesday night, was diagnosed with a Grade 1 sprain, and listed as day-to-day.<\/p>\n
