Phoenix Suns forward Dillon Brooks was fined $25,000 for making a “lewd gesture” during Thursday’s win over the Indiana Pacers, the NBA announced.<\/p>\n
Brooks used the DX chop celebration<\/a> while lying on the court after taking a foul in the final minute of Thursday’s game.<\/p>\n He converted the and-1 free throw to help the Suns close out the 133-98 victory.<\/p>\n The fine comes amid a hot streak for Brooks, who headed into Thursday’s matchup having recorded at least 16 points in three straight games following his return from groin injury.<\/p>\n Brooks went on to post his best outing of the season Thursday with 32 points on 12-for-18 shooting against the visiting Pacers.<\/p>\n The Suns forward was last fined during his 2024-25 season with the Houston Rockets, when the league levied him a $25,000 penalty<\/a> for swearing during a TV interview in January.<\/p>\n Brooks isn’t the only player to pay up for using the chop gesture, which was popularized by WWE’s D-Generation X, on the court this season.<\/p>\n Philadelphia 76ers star Joel Embiid was fined $50,000<\/a> on Nov. 2 after using the same celebration during a game against the Boston Celtics. <\/p>\n
