PROVIDENCE, R.I. – N’famara Dabo<\/a> recorded a program record 11 blocks on Friday evening as the Brown men’s basketball team (0-4) dropped the opener of the Brown Bears Invitational to Hampton (2-2), 72-63 inside the Pizzitola Sports Center.<\/p>\n

The first half had eight lead changes as neither team held a lead of more than five points. The Bears and Pirates both scored 14 points in the paint in the opening 20 minutes, Hampton outrebounded Brown 21-12.<\/p>\n

Dabo, Jeremiah Jenkins<\/a>, and Isaiah Langham<\/a> all finished with eight points in the first half as Dabo recorded six first half blocks. Dabo’s six blocks were the most in a half since Jaylan Gainey ’22 recorded six blocks in the second half against Columbia (Feb. 22, 2022).\u00a0<\/p>\n

Hampton led 30-27 heading into halftime.<\/p>\n

The Pirates outscored the Bears 42-36 in the second half, Michael Eley led the way with 12 second half points for Hampton.<\/p>\n

Dabo recorded five blocks in the second half, passing Gainey’s eight blocks from 2022. Dabo’s 11 blocks are the most in a single game by a Bear and the second-most in Ivy League history. The junior finished with 11 points, seven rebounds, three assists, and 11 blocks, this was Dabo’s second double-double in the last three games.<\/p>\n

Brown’s 13 total blocks are tied for the most in a single game this season across the nation, Dabo’s 11 rejections are the most by a player in a single game across the country.<\/p>\n

The Bears shot 50 percent from the floor and 42.1 percent from three-point range. Brown’s 42.1 three-point percentage is the best mark in a game this season.<\/p>\n

Jenkins scored 13 points in the second half on 4-7 shooting from the floor and 3-4 shooting from three-point range. The sophomore finished the game with a career high 21 points to go along with four assists.\u00a0\u00a0Langham finished with 13 points and six rebounds in his first collegiate start<\/p>\n

Brown will conclude the Brown Bears Invitational on Tuesday, Nov. 18 when they welcome Holy Cross, tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m. inside the Pizzitola Sports Center.
