{"id":286167,"date":"2025-11-15T12:45:20","date_gmt":"2025-11-15T12:45:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/286167\/"},"modified":"2025-11-15T12:45:20","modified_gmt":"2025-11-15T12:45:20","slug":"supercars-news-triple-eight-secures-supercars-teams-championship","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/286167\/","title":{"rendered":"Supercars news: Triple Eight secures Supercars teams\u2019 championship"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/Supercars-Sandown-Saturday-091-copy.jpg\" alt=\"Triple Eight secures Supercars teams\u2019 championship\"\/><br \/>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tTriple Eight Race Engineering secured the teams&#8217; championship with a round to spare at the Sandown 500.<\/p>\n<p>While the drivers\u2019 title is this year being run to a new Finals Series format, the teams\u2019 prize continues with the traditional season-long points accumulation method.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/speedcafe.com\/supercars-news-2025-sandown-500-saturday-race-results-mostert-wins-brown-wood-podium-reaction-highlights\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Finishes of second and fourth for Will Brown and Broc Feeney respectively on Saturday<\/a> were enough to put the prize beyond doubt.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s the 13th time the Triple Eight squad has won the teams\u2019 title and comes in its final season with General Motors before switching to Ford next season.<\/p>\n<p>Grove Racing is currently second in the standings ahead of Tickford Racing, Walkinshaw Andretti United and Team 18.<\/p>\n<p>Triple Eight still has both its drivers in contention to win the drivers\u2019 championship, with Brown moving above the Adelaide cut-line with today\u2019s result.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/speedcafe.com\/supercars-news-2025-sandown-500-finals-series-saturday-standings-mostert-feeney-brown-payne\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">The Finals Series standings after Sandown 500 opener<\/a><\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s great for the team, obviously,\u201d said Brown of the teams\u2019 championship result.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe aim for that every year, it\u2019s something that\u2019s very special to the team and it\u2019s awesome to do it a round before the end.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cObviously, both of us are working to try and get through that top four and have two cars in the top four, but it\u2019s awesome by the team.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis year hasn\u2019t been great for me.
