Pedro Acosta has experienced an upturn in fortunes with KTM over the last few races and has carried some positive momentum into MotoGP\u2019s summer break.<\/p>\n

The young Spaniard now sits seventh in the riders\u2019 standings and continues to inch closer to a maiden premier class victory.<\/p>\n

Unfortunately, KTM\u2019s<\/a> winter financial predicament put them on the back foot heading into 2025, and they\u2019re only just starting to recover from it on track.<\/p>\n

Otherwise, Acosta<\/a> may have been challenging Marc Marquez and Ducati a little more often than he has been able to this year.<\/p>\n

Acosta would be truly \u2018scary\u2019 on a Ducati<\/a>, according to three-time champion Jorge Lorenzo, who has competed against some of the greatest of all time.<\/p>\n

However, Acosta is likely to reject a VR46 move<\/a> for 2027, ending any dreams of being on the dominant Ducati motorcycle soon. He must find another route to the top.<\/p>\n

Even though recent improvements have been encouraging, Acosta made one clear demand to KTM<\/a> in order for them to arrive.<\/p>\n

He demanded upgrades and has also rallied behind his factory colleagues in order to ensure that the operation trends in a positive direction.<\/p>\n

KTM\u2019s decision for the 2027 MotoGP regulations<\/a> is yet to be made, despite confirming their commitment to the sport for 2026.<\/p>\n

Now, Mowmag<\/a> reports that optimism regarding their participation from 2027 is \u2018dangerous\u2019, which is something Acosta should watch out for.<\/p>\n

He doesn\u2019t want to be left stranded without a factory ride or solid satellite seat if KTM pulls out of MotoGP. Communication will be key for him.<\/p>\n

Why leaving KTM\u2019s MotoGP setup might be a risk for Pedro Acosta<\/p>\n

Although he\u2019s in his second season with them, Acosta has only known KTM\u2019s MotoGP setup through his career.<\/p>\n

Leaving them on his own accord could be a gamble, considering that there\u2019s no guarantee that he would be able to effectively translate his raw speed onto another machine quickly.<\/p>\n

He has a lot of time left ahead of him to decide where he wants to end up in the future, but while he\u2019s competing for podiums, his team have a good chance of retaining him.<\/p>\n

If their competitiveness returns to early 2025 levels, then there could be some awkward conversations coming to Austria.<\/p>\n

Acosta is a winner and wants to compete with the likes of Marquez, Jorge Martin and Francesco Bagnaia.
