We\u2019re still seven months away from the UFC\u2019s big White House card,<\/a> but Islam Makhachev has already announced his intention to headline it.<\/p>\n

\u201cDonald Trump, let\u2019s go!\u201d he declared at Madison Square Garden. \u201cOpen the White House, I\u2019m coming!\u201d<\/p>\n

Makhachev just claimed the UFC welterweight title on Saturday night at UFC 322 by wrestling Jack Della Maddalena to a 50-45×3 decision.<\/a> With that, the two division champion likely reclaims his top spot on the pound-for-pound rankings and even opens the book with some on GOAT talk.<\/p>\n

And with GOAT talk comes White House potential, according to UFC CEO Dana White. Asked at the post-fight press conference whether Makhachev could compete on the America 250 celebration card even though he\u2019s not from the USA, White clarified an important point about the event.<\/p>\n

\u201cYeah, it\u2019s not America versus the world,\u201d White said. \u201cIt\u2019s what\u2019s the best card we can build. We are talking about [Makhachev] possibly, GOAT talk here, depending on what he does in his next couple of fights. So, it\u2019s a possibility.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cNot the most exciting title fight you\u2019ll ever see,\u201d White admitted of Islam vs. JDM. \u201cBut let me tell you what: complete dominance. And depending on what we do next with him and what\u2019s going on, this guy\u2019s headed toward GOAT talk.\u201d<\/p>\n

He\u2019ll have to get past Jon Jones, who White still considers the GOAT despite their recent feuding.<\/a><\/p>\n

\u201cJon Jones is still the GOAT, whether you like it or not,\u201d White said.<\/p>\n

White closed out the UFC 322 press conference with a tantalizing reveal that he recently spoke with Jones.<\/p>\n

\u201cI talked to Jon Jones last night, actually,\u201d White said with a smile. \u201cYeah. I got nothing to say about it. I don\u2019t know. I just talked to him last night.\u201d<\/p>\n

Jones has been on his own quest<\/a> to get the UFC to let him fight at the White House. Did this talk lay the groundwork for that?
