Golf isn\u2019t just my job, it\u2019s also my favorite hobby. When I\u2019m not watching and writing about golf, there\u2019s a good chance I\u2019m at the simulator or on the course. <\/p>\n

This may seem like a given considering my job description, but being a golfer in New York City is no easy task. Despite having to take buses, trains and for-hire cars to the course, I still make it a point to play 40-50 rounds a year. I\u2019d like this number to be higher, but as a city golfer, that\u2019s pretty dang good.<\/p>\n

One of the advantages of being an avid golf player (in addition to an avid golf watcher) is that I understand our readers. When I see someone taking practice swings with their umbrella on the subway platform, I can\u2019t help but crack a smile. Golf sickos are everywhere \u2014 and I love to see it.<\/p>\n

As a fellow person stricken with the golf bug, I\u2019m always keen to try the newest gear and gadgets that can make the game more enjoyable. This year, I\u2019ve been fortunate to try out quite a few useful items, and my five favorite are listed below.<\/p>\n

The Grooveit Mini G Brush is my favorite golf item I\u2019ve put in the bag in years. You see, this brush isn\u2019t your average groove cleaner. It\u2019s small enough so as not be a hassle hanging from your bag, but it\u2019s large enough to get all the grass and grime out of your grooves on the course. <\/p>\n

Perhaps the best feature of all, though, is the strong magnet that secures the brush to the carabiner. With this magnet holding it in place, you can snatch the brush from your bag and use it without fussing with a wire or chain. And thanks to the strength of the magnet, it easily snaps back into place when you\u2019re putting it back; there\u2019s no need to worry about losing it after use. <\/p>\n
