(ABC News: Tim Lee)<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph__iYReA\">Farmer Sally Zacher, on South Australia&#8217;s Eyre Peninsula, starts her day early, and she can still be going at 3am.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph__iYReA\">&#8220;If the weather&#8217;s right, you just keep going,&#8221; she said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph__iYReA\">&#8220;As long as you&#8217;ve got storage, you just go.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph__iYReA\">Under such manic pressure, it is important for farmers to have something to keep them going.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph__iYReA\">This year, for the farmers who voted for their favourite songs in the Harvest 100, that something was overwhelmingly a 1980s Aussie classic.<\/p>\n<p>Loading&#8230;<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph__iYReA\">Jimmy Barnes&#8217;s Working Class Man claimed the number one spot in the annual song countdown, which is run by South Australia&#8217;s grain industry.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph__iYReA\">It is a fitting choice for the poll, with many farmers struggling to get a crop out of the ground after <a class=\"Link_link__kR0xA Link_link__5eL5m ScreenReaderOnly_srLinkHint__OysWz Link_showVisited__C1Fea Link_showFocus__ALyv2\" href=\"https:\/\/www.abc.net.au\/news\/2025-10-05\/farmers-begin-long-recovery-after-year-long-sa-drought\/105850610\" data-component=\"Link\" data-uri=\"coremedia:\/\/article\/105850610\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">two consecutive years of drought<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Aussie legend a farmer favourite<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph__iYReA\">Now in its fourth year, the Harvest 100 music poll was started by a South Australian organisation for SA farmers, but farmers around the country are encouraged to take part.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Jimmy Barnes performs at the Sydney Entertainment Centre.\" class=\"Image_image__5tFYM ContentImage_image__DQ_cq\"  src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/1f9d58d0b3177bb4c6c009779b04bc46\" loading=\"lazy\" data-component=\"Image\" data-lazy=\"true\"\/><\/p>\n<p class=\"Typography_base__sj2RP FigureCaption_text__zDxQ5 Typography_sizeMobile12__w_FPC Typography_lineHeightMobile20___U7Vr Typography_regular__WeIG6 Typography_colourInherit__dfnUx\" data-component=\"Typography\">Barnes attributes his strong resolve to his tough upbringing. (ABC South East SA: Elsie Adamo)<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph__iYReA\">Elders Naracoorte agronomist Adam Hancock explained timing could be so variable across SA because of the different weather and soil conditions, and most had a delayed start to the season due to a late &#8220;break&#8221; of rain.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph__iYReA\">&#8220;The further south you go, the more rain you get.
