{"id":289083,"date":"2025-11-16T22:05:08","date_gmt":"2025-11-16T22:05:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/289083\/"},"modified":"2025-11-16T22:05:08","modified_gmt":"2025-11-16T22:05:08","slug":"fabio-di-giannantonio-takes-motogp-revenge-on-valencia-the-trophy-stays-with-me","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/289083\/","title":{"rendered":"Fabio Di Giannantonio takes MotoGP revenge on Valencia: \u201cThe trophy stays with me!\u201d"},"content":{"rendered":"<p dir=\"ltr\">Two years after he was denied a podium in the Valencia MotoGP, Fabio Di Giannantonio was back on the rostrum at the Circuit Ricardo Tormo in 2025.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Di Giannantonio crossed the line third in the 2023 edition of the Valencia <a href=\"https:\/\/www.crash.net\/motogp\" data-entity-type=\"external\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">MotoGP<\/a>, but was handed a time penalty after the race for a tyre pressure breach, and was classified fourth in the end.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">After 2024\u2019s race was moved to Barcelona, Di Giannantonio got his first chance at some kind of retribution for the 2023 penalty in 2025, and he took it with third places in both the Sprint and grand prix.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u201cThis time the trophy stays with me,\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/www.crash.net\/motogp\/racer\/995149\/fabio-di-giannantonio\" data-entity-type=\"external\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Fabio Di Giannantonio<\/a> joked after the race when speaking to MotoGP\u2019s\u00a0After the Flag\u00a0show.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u201cAlso tonight it will stay with me, no one will steal my trophy!\u00a0<\/p>\n<p> Article continues below ADVERTISEMENT<\/p>\n<p> Article continues below ADVERTISEMENT<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u201cSuper-happy about the race, about the fight, happy to finish like this the season, it\u2019s been a rollercoaster season.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u201cSuper-proud of the team that never turned the shoulder to me, we have always been super-united, working to achieve the maximum in the good and bad times.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u201cSo, it\u2019s been a great season in this part, in the human side. Super-happy to continue with this crew for next year.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u201cIt\u2019s been a great weekend; I think it\u2019s the first time I have all the three cups available, let\u2019s say, so it\u2019s definitely one of our best weekends.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Challenging Aprilia<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Although Di Giannantonio was on the podium, he was a long way from victory \u2013 3.7 seconds in the end.<\/p>\n<p> Article continues below ADVERTISEMENT<\/p>\n<p> Article continues below ADVERTISEMENT<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">The race was dominated by Aprilia, by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.crash.net\/motogp\/racer\/995158\/marco-bezzecchi\" data-entity-type=\"external\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Marco Bezzecchi<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.crash.net\/motogp\/racer\/995154\/raul-fernandez\" data-entity-type=\"external\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Raul Fernandez<\/a> who finished only half-a-second apart.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Di Giannantonio admitted afterwards that he had expected to be able to challenge for victory, but ultimately was simply lacking the pace of the RS-GP riders.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u201cI wanted to win today, but the rhythm that they [Bezzecchi and Fernandez] were putting on in the beginning was really strong,\u201d the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.crash.net\/motogp\/teams\/pertamina-enduro-vr46-racing\" data-entity-type=\"external\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">VR46 Racing<\/a> Ducati rider said.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u201cFor me, it was tough to be with them, I was turning much wider than them so for me it was difficult to keep the pace.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u201cSo, I had to use the plan B that was saving the rear tyre to try to come back at the end \u2013 luckily it worked.
