Kennesaw, Ga., Nov. 16, 2025 \u2013 The University of South Florida men’s basketball team defeated Kennesaw State, 108-89, on Sunday afternoon at VyStar Arena in the Love Wins Classic. This marks the first USF team in program history to score 100 points in three of their first four games.<\/p>\n

Joseph Pinion<\/a> matched the career-high 24 points he set in the previous game and shot a perfect 100% from deep, going three-for-three from beyond the arc. Josh Omojafo<\/a> added 20 points and six rebounds, and Izaiyah Nelson<\/a> posted his third double-double of the season with 18 points, 11 rebounds, and four blocks. Wes Enis<\/a> finished with 13 points and three assists, CJ Brown<\/a> added 10 points and four assists, and freshman Gavin Hightower<\/a> contributed 9 points off the bench.<\/p>\n

In the first half, South Florida established control immediately with aggressive defense and efficient pick-and-roll execution. Pinion sparked the offense with another explosive start, scoring 20+ points before halftime for the second straight game. The defense generated stops, converting turnovers into scoring opportunities, and kept the tempo in South Florida’s favor. The half ended 56-41, with the Bulls holding their lead the entire half. \n<\/p>\n

\nIn the second half, the Bulls kept up their offensive intensity, scoring efficiently in the paint and from three. Bench players added important minutes and points, helping the team maintain energy and momentum throughout the half. South Florida’s defense created extra possessions while the offense executed efficiently, maintaining the lead for the entire game.<\/p>\n

\nSouth Florida men’s basketball named\u00a0Bryan Hodgson<\/a>, 37, as the program’s 12th head coach on March 24, 2025. Hodgson came to Tampa from Arkansas State, where he led the program to back-to-back 20-win seasons and its first postseason appearance since 1999 in his two seasons at the helm.

\nThe program, entering its 55th\u00a0season in 2025-26, most recently won the American Athletic Conference regular season championship in 2023-24 and has made 13 postseason appearances, including three NCAA Tournaments, nine NITs, and a CBI championship in 2019.
