South Korean indie rock four-piece Silica Gel<\/a> have tapped Japanese Breakfast<\/a>\u2019s Michelle Zauner for a new song titled \u201cNamgungFefere.\u201d \u201cThis was the first time I’ve ever written lyrics in Korean,\u201d Zauner shared in a press statement. \u201cAnyone who\u2019s familiar with my work knows how much my Korean heritage has come to mean to me, so it was very personal to collaborate with such a revered Korean band and to create something for a larger Korean audience.\u201d Watch the music video for \u201cNamgungFefere,\u201d directed by Jan\u2019 Qui<\/a>, below.<\/p>\n

Zauner has kept busy since releasing her latest Japanese Breakfast LP, For Melancholy Brunettes (& Sad Women)<\/a>, in March. She\u2019s shared music videos for the album tracks \u201cPicture Window<\/a>\u201d and \u201cWinter in LA<\/a>,\u201d covered Gorillaz<\/a>\u2019s \u201cOn Melancholy Hill<\/a>\u201d during her Coachella 2025 set<\/a>, and contributed a song to the soundtrack for Celine Song\u2019s new film Materialists<\/a>. Zauner\u2019s ongoing international tour<\/a> will return to North America in August.<\/p>\n
