Shedeur Sanders’ first regular-season game proved a doozy for numerous reasons. The Browns<\/a> hurler avoided the spotlight’s glare \u2014 at least from an on-field perspective \u2014 throughout Cleveland’s first nine games.<\/p>\n

Game No. 10 proved a different matter. Sanders got his chance to perform after Dillon Gabriel exited the Browns’ Week 11 bout with the Ravens<\/a> with a concussion.<\/p>\n

Sanders’ debut promised to draw attention. In the end, he was fairly underwhelming, struggling to find his rhythm when matched against Baltimore’s rearguard.<\/p>\n

He threw an interception early, finding Nate Wiggins’ grasp with an errant toss. All told, Sanders completed just 4-of-16 passes for 47 yards on Sunday night. He found slightly more success with his legs \u2014 Sanders recorded three rushes for 16 yards.<\/p>\n

But it proved a dour showing for the first-year passer. He wasn’t the only hurler to struggle on Sunday evening \u2014 Lamar Jackson threw two interceptions to zero touchdowns.<\/p>\n

Still, Sanders’ toils proved fatal in Cleveland’s 23-16 loss to Baltimore.<\/p>\n

7:22 p.m.:\u00a0Sanders had Isaiah Bond open int he corner of the end zone. But his toss spurned the former Texas’ wideout’s grasp. Another incompletion \u2014 this one on an attempted throw to Gage Larvadain \u2014 sets Cleveland up with a fourth-and-five from the Ravens’ 25.<\/p>\n

7:20 p.m.:\u00a0Sanders is quietly coming to life with less than two minutes left. Just found Jerry Jeudy for a first down then slalomed beyond an opposition defender to move closer to the first-down marker.<\/p>\n

7:15 p.m.:\u00a0Sanders whips a 25-yard pearler to Harold Fannin Jr to move the Browns into Ravens territory!<\/p>\n

Ravens 23, Browns 16<\/p>\n

7:10 p.m.:\u00a0The Browns’ subsequent drive comes up short. Not only will Baltimore get the ball back. But it will get it back in alluring position \u2014 around midfield with four minutes left in regulation.<\/p>\n

7:05 p.m.:\u00a0Loop ties the game at 16 apiece. Sanders will stride onto the field with a chance to give Cleveland the lead.<\/p>\n

6:59 p.m.:\u00a0Jackson has the Ravens pacing towards Cleveland’s end zone. More importantly, Baltimore is draining the clock, giving Sanders and Co. less time to work with if the Ravens do take the lead.<\/p>\n

6:50 p.m.:\u00a0It hasn’t been the most fruitful displays for Sanders, who has seen five of his seven pass attempts miss their target. Still, there’s a case to be made that Sanders has performed better than Lamar Jackson thus far.<\/p>\n

6:45 p.m.:\u00a0Baltimore has halved Cleveland’s advantage off the back of a Tyler Loop chip shot. Sanders and Co. have some work to do to hang onto its lead.<\/p>\n

6:35 p.m.:\u00a0Sanders has been renowned \u2014 or perhaps reviled \u2014 for the length of time he holds onto the ball. His struggles with timeliness came to a head once more on the last drive, where he was dumped by a slew of Baltimore defenders.<\/p>\n
