Hong Kong swimmer Ian Ho, cyclists Ceci Lee and Chloe Leung have clinched gold at the 15th National Games, bringing the city\u2019s gold medal tally to a record seven.<\/p>\n

Hong Kong athletes bagged a total of three gold, two silver and four bronze medals at China\u2019s top multi-sport event over the weekend. <\/p>\n

In the men\u2019s 50-metre freestyle event on Sunday, Ho claimed victory by finishing the race in 21.71 seconds, setting a new Hong Kong record and a personal best time.<\/p>\n

Cycling star Lee and teammate Leung collected gold in the women\u2019s madison in the track cycling event on Sunday. It was Lee\u2019s second gold medal<\/a> in this year\u2019s National Games on Sunday. <\/p>\n

Secretary for Culture, Sports and Tourism Rosanna Law praised<\/a> the swimming and cycling athletes for giving \u201cfull play to their skills in the competitions.\u201d <\/p>\n

Lee demonstrated \u201cextraordinary capability,\u201d the minister said, adding that she was \u201cso proud\u201d of Leung and Ho for winning their first gold medals at the National Games.<\/p>\n

The city\u2019s triathlon team \u2013 consisting of Oscar Louis Coggins, Robin Bent Edvin Thomas Elg, Cade Cameron Wright and Bailee Briana Brown \u2013 picked up a silver medal on Sunday in the mixed relay event. <\/p>\n

Fencing star and two-time Olympic gold medallist Edgar Cheung earned a bronze in the men\u2019s foil individual event on the same day. <\/p>\n

Meanwhile, swimmer Siobhan Haughey secured a second gold medal on Saturday in the women\u2019s 100m Freestyle\u00a0event, following her victory in the women\u2019s 200m freestyle race<\/a> two days earlier.<\/p>\n

The fencing team delivered two medals on Saturday, with men\u2019s sabre representative Aaron Ho placing second and women\u2019s epee fencer Kaylin Shieh winning bronze. Ho\u2019s silver medal marked the first individual medal for the city\u2019s men\u2019s sabre team in National Games history.<\/p>\n

The remaining two bronze medals won over the weekend came from Adam Mak in the men\u2019s 200m breaststroke and Coggins\u00a0in the men\u2019s individual triathlon race.<\/p>\n

The culture, sports, and tourism chief hailed<\/a> on Saturday that Hong Kong athletes had \u201csuccessfully written a new glorious chapter\u00a0in the National Games\u201d for the city. <\/p>\n

As of Sunday, Hong Kong has won 14 medals \u2013 seven golds, two silvers, and five bronzes \u2013 in sailing, cycling, tennis, swimming, rugby, triathlon, and fencing at the 15th National Games.<\/p>\n

In past National Games, the city won at most two gold medals. <\/p>\n

According<\/a> to the government, Hong Kong\u2019s previous highest medal count was 16 during the 13th National Games in 2017. That year, it won two golds, seven silvers, and\u00a0seven\u00a0bronzes.<\/p>\n
