James Cameron is a busy man. Beyond building out an entire universe in the Avatar sequels, he\u2019s also noodling away on The Devils<\/a> and Last Train From Hiroshima<\/a>, two films he\u2019s got on his development roster. But worry not, Alita fans \u2013 among it all, he certainly hasn\u2019t forgotten about his Battle Angel. Back in 2019, the Cameron-penned and -produced Alita: Battle Angel<\/a>, directed by Robert Rodriguez, brought the first chapter of their long-awaited manga adaptation to the screen \u2013 a project that spent years in development. But it only told part of the story, and Alita fans have been desperate for more ever since. Well, with Avatar: Fire And Ash<\/a> nearly finished, it sounds like wheels will start moving on Alita again soon.<\/p>\n

\u201cI appreciate the loyalty of the Alita fans,\u201d Cameron told Empire in a brand new interview, answering your reader questions. And he has good news for that loyal throng. \u201cRobert Rodriguez and I have sworn a blood oath to do at least one more Alita movie. In fact, we\u2019re thinking of an architecture that bridges to a third film, but we\u2019ll be satisfied if we can make one more. And we\u2019re making progress on that.\u201d<\/p>\n

Safe to say, Cameron has been busy busy busy on Pandora for years now \u2013 but it really does sound like more Alita is on the way. \u201cNow that I have a home in Austin, Texas, about three miles from [Robert\u2019s] place, I think we\u2019ll probably get more serious about that as soon as I wrap the mix here in a few weeks,\u201d he says. Who\u2019s ready for another round of Motorball?<\/p>\n
