Stand-up comedy is as pressure-packed of an environment as there is. Yet there may not be a gig or room on the planet that could possibly dial up the nerves quite like trying to play golf on camera for one million dollars, as comedian and Barstool Sports personality Francis Ellis came to find out in the incredible final episode of The Internet Invitational. <\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019ve had pressure moments in my life,\u201d Ellis said on this week\u2019s episode of The Loop podcast. \u201cBut usually it was like, I have to kiss a girl for my first kiss on the dance floor. Or, like, I\u2019m in trouble and I have to lie my way out of the fact that I didn\u2019t do my homework. You know what I mean?\u201d<\/p>\n

Ellis, who made it to the final match and was paired with the late Cody \u201cBeef\u201d Franke of Foreplay and Good Good\u2019s Brad Dalke, said the final few holes was by far the biggest pressure cooker of his life. Understandable given they were collectively playing for $1 million in prize money, $333,333 per player.\u00a0<\/p>\n
It was on the 16th hole where he felt the nerves the most.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u201cIt shifted from \u2018I hope we win\u2019 to \u2018I hope I don\u2019t lose this for us\u2019,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
It didn\u2019t help that Beef had already made mention of the fact that he\u2019d be using his prize money, had his team won, to help pay off his parents\u2019 mortgage.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u201cAm I really going to hit the shot that keeps my friend\u2019s parents in debt?\u201d Ellis joked. \u201cAre you kidding me? Is there a tour player out there, or a Ryder Cup player, like Scottie Scheffler knows that if he misses a putt, Bryson [DeChambeau] is going to be fine. His parents don\u2019t have mortgages to pay off.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n
