FOR everyone wondering what the 2025 Supercars Championship points would look like without the new Finals system, wonder no more.<\/p>\n

Under the old system of accumulating points throughout the year, Broc Feeney<\/a> would have one hand on the trophy heading to what probably would still have been called the Adelaide 500.<\/p>\n

Actually, he\u2019d have more than a hand. Maybe even most of his other hand and possibly a foot.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s no surprise, as Feeney is the dominant driver of the 2025 season.<\/p>\n

The Triple Eight racer has 13 race wins when no-one else has more than four, and 16 poles when no-one else has more than four.<\/p>\n

That would\u2019ve translated to Feeney having a 286 point lead over his nearest challenger with a maximum haul of 300 points available at the Adelaide finale.<\/p>\n

The obvious loser under the old system is Chaz Mostert<\/a>, who falls from second under the Finals format down to fifth place over 700 points off the top.<\/p>\n

Kai Allen<\/a> is another; the rookie, who pulled off a major upset in securing a Finals berth, would nonetheless still be having a stellar maiden \u2018main game\u2019 season in eighth \u2013 one point behind Anton De Pasquale<\/a>.<\/p>\n

There would be several big winners under the old format.<\/p>\n

One is Matt Payne<\/a>, who\u2019d be second in points and the only other driver in mathematical title contention entering the final round.<\/p>\n

<\/a><\/p>\n

Another is Brodie Kostecki<\/a>, who\u2019d be sixth in points rather than eighth, while a ninth-placed Andr\u00e9 Heimgartner<\/a> would be leading a tight battle for the last spots inside the top 10 against Thomas Randle<\/a> and Ryan Wood<\/a>.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s worth noting, of course, that drivers and teams play to the rules and the points system in front of them.<\/p>\n

Walkinshaw Andretti United has been clear from the opening round at Sydney Motorsport Park that Mostert was the guinea pig for doing setup development purely to make sure their Mustangs were fast at the Gold Coast, Sandown and Adelaide.<\/p>\n

That means plenty of points were left on the table through the Sprint Cup phase of the season, knowing that they wouldn\u2019t need to earn them all back to be a title contender.<\/p>\n
