This weekend, 59 athletes competed for the coveted Stars and Stripes jersey at the\u00a02025 USA Cycling Madison Track National Championships<\/a>, hosted by Mad Track Cycling.<\/p>\n

Friday<\/p>\n

Racing began Friday evening at the Mad Track Arena with non-championship events, followed by the first championship Madison race of the weekend, where the Masters Men 35+ and Masters Men 45+ categories competed together for 120 laps. The evening concluded with the Co-Ed Madison final, where competitors completed 80 laps.<\/p>\n

In the Masters Men 35+ category, Team Purple, comprised of\u00a0Kyle Perry\u00a0(Indianapolis, Ind.) and\u00a0Aaron Beebe\u00a0(Indianapolis, Ind.), earned the win with 79 points, 44 points ahead of second place. In the Masters Men 45+ category,\u00a0Kevin Phillips\u00a0(Redondo Beach, Calif.) and\u00a0Jason Meidhof\u00a0(Denver, Colo.) of Team Orange captured the coveted Stars and Stripes jersey, earning a total of 11 points.<\/p>\n

In the Co-Ed Madison final, Team Black\u2019s\u00a0Laurel Rathbun\u00a0(Encinitas, Calif.) and Luke Fetzer\u00a0(Laguna Niguel, Calif.) delivered a strong performance, earning the win with 19 points.<\/p>\n

Masters Men 35+ Madison Results:<\/p>\n

1. Team Purple \u2013 Kyle Perry\u00a0(Indianapolis, Ind.) and\u00a0Aaron Beebe\u00a0(Indianapolis, Ind.)<\/p>\n

2. Team Yellow \u2013 Martin Vecchio (Detroit, Mich.) and Jon Hughes (Detroit, Mich.)<\/p>\n

3. Team Green \u2013 Craig Batory (Detroit, Mich.) and Blake Beddow (Ferndale, Mich.)<\/p>\n

Masters Men 45+ Madison Results:<\/p>\n

1. Team Orange \u2013 Kevin Phillips\u00a0(Redondo Beach, Calif.) and\u00a0Jason Meidhof\u00a0(Denver, Colo.)<\/p>\n

2. Team Black \u2013 Jeromy Cottell (Redwood City, Calif.) and SuperDave Koesel (San Juan Bautista, Calif.)<\/p>\n

3. Team Silver \u2013 Nick Laughton (Rochester, Mich.) and Michael Hartrick (Auburn Hills, Mich.)<\/p>\n

Co-Ed Madison Results:<\/p>\n

1. Team Black \u2013\u00a0Laurel Rathbun\u00a0(Encinitas, Calif.) and Luke Fetzer\u00a0(Laguna Niguel, Calif.)<\/p>\n

2. Team Red \u2013 Daniel Summerhill (Centennial, Colo.) and Arielle Coy (Indianapolis, Ind.)<\/p>\n

3. Team Pink \u2013 Jackson Clary (Westfield, Ind.) and Stephanie Lawrence\u00a0(Colorado Springs, Colo.)<\/p>\n

Saturday<\/p>\n

In the first national championship race of the day, the Junior Men 14 & Under and Junior Women 14 & Under competed together. Team Yellow, consisting of Viv Carlow (Brooklyn, N.Y.) and Ari Ebens (New York, N.Y.), claimed first place with 20 points. Team Pink\u2019s Evie Alvarado (Indianapolis, Ind.) and Sophia Avery (Sunol, Calif.) earned the Stars and Stripes jersey for the Junior Women 14 & Under category.<\/p>\n

The second championship event of the evening featured a combined Madison race, bringing together the Elite Women, Masters Women 35+, and Junior Women 15-18 categories. Team Pink, comprised of Kimberly Zubris (Alburtis, Pa.) and Stephanie Lawrence (Colorado Springs, Colo.), claimed first place and the gold medal in the Elite Women category. Team Green, with Jillian Halm (Allentown, Pa.) and Akira Edmonds (Brooklyn, N.Y.) secured the Stars and Stripes in the Junior Women 15-18 category. Team Purple, featuring Nicole Schickel (Carmel, Ind.) and Denedra Woods (Ventura, Calif.), won the Masters Women 35+ national title.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The Junior Men 15-18 took the track for the penultimate championship race of the evening, where Team Orange, Kashus Adamski (Bloomfield Hills, Mich.) and Jackson Clary (Westfield, Ind.), took control and earned the win with 28 points, 10 points ahead of second place.<\/p>\n

The championship events concluded with the 180-lap Elite Men\u2019s race, where Team Purple\u2019s Perry and Beebe battled against six teams to claim victory, earning their second win of the weekend.<\/p>\n

Junior Women 14 & Under Madison Results:<\/p>\n

1. Team Pink \u2013 Evie Alvarado (Indianapolis, Ind.) and Sophia Avery (Sunol, Calif.)<\/p>\n
